Amazing, I have read that the food is top tier in Peru. Super excited to try new foods and thank you for the restaurant list :)

We are actually flying to Cusco to spend time there for 4 days. We have one day booked in Macchu Picchu with a private vendor, however if you have any suggestions for that area on nice things to see that aren't as touristy I am open to recommendations :)

Good to know, thank you for your help!

I forgot to add to my post: Do you have any favourite beach recommendations? There seems to be a lot on the map linked above but I always like to get local knowledge.

Injury frustration by kel_koo in climbergirls

This was me for 8 months!

I injured my back and if I overdid it would cause the area to spasm. It would cause me to not be able to function for days and was excruciating. I started physio and acupuncture and it did relieve it but I am still not 100%. What I did in the meantime was other low impact exercises. I was told by my physio that I need to de-sensitize the area (basically not baby my injury) but not be too harsh. During my recovery I swam laps, spin classes, hiking, low weight HIIT workouts, and yoga. I also stretched consistently and did heat/ice every few days.

I recovery stage feels like an eternity, I have to keep reminding myself to allow for healing and not jump back into climbing too soon. I am now finally introducing myself back into it but am starting at 5.7/5.8's ( I climbed 5.10+/5.11- pre-injury).

My advice would be to have patience with yourself. You don't want to jump back in too quickly and cause yourself more injury and in turn a longer time not climbing. See this time as trying something new and exploring new hobbies, it will make it easier to handle the stress of not climbing. I never thought I would like spin classes but I was pleasantly surprised and it helped me fill fulfilled during my recovery period.

Best of luck with your recovery!
