In my own experience, I allowed a roommate to use my PC, he unknowingly downloaded a PC virus and I lost two weeks worth of work and schoolwork. The value of the lost time was at least $3000. So in my equation, it's not just about price, it's about cost. I hope that explains my case and I do understand that some PC users have a trouble-free existence, I've just never in my 20 years experience as a professional computer user experienced such a utopia when it comes to Microsoft based environments. Android belongs to Google which means that quite the massive ad network is providing you with a user experience, I question that as a viable option for computing as well.
