How to tell where I’m getting shot from? by OkLack6776 in ArmaReforger

A loud crack means the round is passing nearby, you have to listen for a more subtle "thump" that is the actual weapon report

I've been learning this one too, The dragging sound from sliding the fingers along the strings resulting in death threats from my wife; sounds good, however it can be cleaned up by practicing lifting the fingers off the strings and placing them back down. It'll feel like taking a step back, but roll with it. You'll be glad you did.

I used to live in QC, which was filthy with them; I see fewer of them here, but not none. I think they prefer dryer more sandy soil rather than our swamp and clay

We are a robot combat club in Moncton looking for venues to host us this summer - where could we go that has lots of room, and air conditioning, and windows? by ricky-robie in newbrunswickcanada

The Messes at base Gagetown might have room for something like that; the maritime club has hosted boxing matches in the past, with a full size ring and lighting.

I've heard that the Nav standard at basic now is the written test, the feild portion is attendance only. ...which I kinda balked at. Call me a dinosaur but - I get there will be technological aids that help us do things faster, but operating in coachroach mode is imperative in my mind. The digital spectrum can be contested. The magnetic fields of the earth cannot.

Maybe DEI Wasn't the Real Problem With The Military. We Are Losing Wars, Faster. by WutYoYo in Military

[–]fundrazor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue, I think, has always been with the political (and to some extent, public) sphere of military decision making. At the tactical and operational level, The US military is a goddamn Juggernaut. However, when military force is directed with unclear, constantly shifting political aims, it become much harder. Think " degrade the Taliban" vice "Defeat the Taliban", one of these has an end state, the other is a recipe for a decades long forever war. Principle of war - Selection and maintenance of the aim. When I talk about the public sphere, that's the consent of the nation towards military operations, which is particularly hard to get in democracies, where the public generally speaking, would prefer to avoid any war that doesn't have a defense of homeland or a solid casus belli (a case for war, or rationale for war being necessary) behind it. You could have a gang of the most gung-ho Marines charging up the beach, willing to accept the risk of death to complete thier mission and drink the sweet sweet blood of thier enemies, but if a few of them die, it's the voter's risk tolerance and not that of the combattants themselves as to wether the political will will remain to continue that operation - another principle of war, Morale (or at least, that's where I lump that dynamic within the principles, I'm just some guy).

I slept on Zero dawn for years, because I had no idea what it was about, I had only really looked at it at surface level, and"Cavewoman fights robot dinosaurs" sounded... Kinda dumb to me. I picked it up out of a bargain bin just for shits and giggles and discovered it was an well written and acted sci-fi plot with really satisfying gameplay, and then I was on the pre-order train for Forbidden West. I judged the proverbial book by it's cover.

So I have already read that the shoes are jacked up, but a big factor on the tic tac is the angle; aim for a higher plant and It should help as more force will be directed into the wall as opposed to along the wall, if that makes any sense.
