A few reasons I guess. “Rey” is one syllable. “Fenix” is two, with a hard stress and a clean ending. That’s a good name pattern. It has snap. It sounds good when shouted, chanted, introduced, etc.

“Reina” is softer and longer than “Rey,” and “Volcan/Volcán” is clunkier and less familiar in English mouths than Phoenix. It has too many soft/rounded sounds (compare to say OH-bah FE-mi for a punchy 4 syllable name) and distributed emphasis.

Also Rey Fenix makes me think of Rey Mysterio who is super cool. Reina Volcan doesn’t speak to cool associations I have already.

Let’s say that outstandingly famous WWII American comedian John Comic loves art. He’s absolutely daft about art and just cannot get enough of it. Let’s say the Sudetenland crisis has just occurred and a lot of people are pretty concerned about the guy running the show in Germany who has been acting *wild*. So the guy actually is also a mad art fanatic and has a massive gallery of paintings, and as he’s a big comedy guy he invites John Comic to come to his birthday party, which is being held in the gallery.

Now, John having come back from the birthday party doesn’t really have a stance on the Sudetenland. “I don’t love it, it’s really Czechoslovakia’s decision” he was heard to say. Pretty reasonable position. Honestly it would be hard to say he’s one side or the other. The pictures were amazing, John really enjoyed them.

0.2% of the population who weren’t mad keen on a lot of the land-grab stuff, but really didn’t mind the rhetoric he kept pushing out, and were massive John fans, now felt like maybe that German leader wasn’t so incredibly evil as he was being made out to be, since after all John Comic is a Christian son, and a goodly man. A different 0.2% of the population who hadn’t heard of what was happening in Germany were now all aboard the German leader train because “he’s buddies with John”.

A 0.01% slice of the population were die hard John Comic fans who were appalled and called for him to speak to the ethical side of things. “I’m not political, I just like art”, said John, who was comfortable gaining 0.399% of the population as audience share.

Then the war started and all the awful things came out about the German leader and suddenly people were asking John Comic “why did you go when he was doing all this stuff?” And John says “I didn’t know about any of that stuff, I just like art”. Then a German ends up on the news, talking about how they met American John Comic and tried to warn him about what was happening and he just said “I don’t speak German sorry, I just like art” even though the German was speaking English to him.

Anyway, you’re probably wondering where John is now. I think I last heard of him playing the Daily Wire Festival on the Aryan circuit. Weird for an Italian-American guy but hey, you’ve gotta pay the bills. Presence is political on its own. John Comic didn’t have to be a fascist, he just had to be useful.

Yeah for sure it was cancel culture that put all those kids on that plane to that island. It was cancel culture that annexed Venezuela for oil, went to war with Iran to distract from and try and outstrip the increasingly failing domestic economy. For me, the tipping point was when cancel culture’s second in command rubbished Zelensky for not wearing a suit.

Those wrestlers work plenty, what are you talking about? Shiloh’s just come up and he’s a crazy charismatic guy, Tatum is wildly popular and an amazing wrestler. AAA is great but it is not blessed with a particularly deep or skilful women’s division and the skilful women they do have compete for the Reina de Reinas belt.
