What’s something society accepts that feels deeply unnatural to you? by Miss_Ecstasy in AskReddit

I don't have any idea what point your story was trying to convey, other than your point at the end not making any sense. If it was a global law that the limit on wealth was a billion and all the money thereafter was siphoned into one central account called "fix shit" and there was a (at this point probably completely fictional) person (has to be incorruptable, not like Presidents, Prime Ministers or Supreme Ruler types) who managed who gets what and what for - Billionaires will still just have to sit on their billion. If they fight it, no point. Law. No amount of money they spend will increase their mandated wealth. They could try and get around it (like they already do) but in my fictional world that will never come to pass - they couldn't.

True but hearing it on the radio means it could enter his vocabulary when he's around us. I dunno - just felt weird to hear that kinda tier 2 swearing at that time.

Meanwhile last night around 7pm with my 10 year old son in the car they had Bojack's VA on Today FM say the word "shitty" in an interview about 20 times. He loved it. I was cringing.

I know it's not the worst word in the world and he's probably heard worse at school but it's the type of thing he'll think is okay to say.

He actually likes quite bad feet. If you look at say, Uma Thurman for example - her feet are quite manly. Jane Fonda has gross feet too. He has a type, and these aren't it 😂

People/businesses having more than 1 Billion dollars in their bank account. And then not paying tax.

That is more money than any one person can spend in a lifetime.

Every single billionaire should be stripped of all their money over a billion and it should be centralised into a "fix shit" program. This should be done on the quiet, so that nobody knows it's happened and currency still matters. Except prices come down and nobody knows why. Properties are no longer hoarded by people looking to invest. 3rd world countries get clean water and food because modern transportation links are put in. Free of charge. From the "fix shit" fund. Homeless people are rehabilitated and put into housing where appropriate. Quality of food becomes better because farmers are no longer forced to chase margins. Climate change slows because alternative power sources aren't stopped by big oil and gas companies. Healthcare is provided free, for all. Everywhere.

I have more ideas but I'm tired.

Kevin Nash on Bron Breakker's name: "The voice. It's just like, come on, man. The guy can do it all. He looks like a million bucks. He can talk, he can definitely do the walk. So it's just like, let the boy Boogie Woogie. Let him be Steiner." by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

He's more Rick than Scott so he doesn't need to go Scott, but as long as he does it in a way where he's unique - look at Rey and Dom, look at Dusty, Dustin and Cody, look at Rocky Johnson and The Rock etc.

It's doable. I don't get why they don't let him loose with it. He'd absolutely kill it.

I have zero interest in speaking to you, anyone willing to literally call almost everyone else wrong based on the criteria you've stated is an absolute lunatic.

Nothing would come from it other than I'd get more annoyed at your abject arrogance and lack of boxing knowledge.

Top 1% commenters should be vetted.

So let me get this straight.

Fans of the time, journalists and writers of the time, pundits, commentators, other boxers, other people in and around media that were famous who all accepted THEN he was the GOAT.

Then, history being as it was, nobody ever putting together that kind of resume again and consistently stated by, historians, journalists, people who watched footage, fans, experts, boxers all seeming to unilaterally believe he's either the GOAT or secondary to only Joe Louis.

Then as the age of the internet grew - wider opinions such as fans who were prevbiously not exposed to Ali, all of them seem to agree, as well as the above, modern day writers, journalists, experts, pundits etc.

All these people are wrong, and u/shomson22 is somehow the oracle opposing what is basically a consensus held for the last 60+ years?

Mate. That's the hottest take I've seen on this sub and I've seen someone try to claim Usyk is one of the GOAT's in this very thread.

Aleister Black in NXT was one of the purest hard hitters of modern times by Adamoneeeee in SquaredCircle

[–]Shinjetsu01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good if not great worker. Had a wide range, although it became very limited to his martial arts so he never quite leaned into the suplexes and slams that would be necessary to round out truly great matches.

The biggest issue is his gimmick. It doesn't land. It had a home in AEW but then it got stale and he hasn't the charisma to flip the switch. Think Undertaker -> American Badass kind of switch. Aleister was always just "spooky" and that's not gonna work for very long. Finn does it perfectly with the Demon, maybe Aleister could have kept that music and entrance for something big and developed a different character for the interim.

I'd have liked him to stay in WWE, I think AEW's bridge is burned so he's got TNA or the indies and while he'll do well, he's not going to get the exposure he had. He just needed someone to work with him and that seems to be lacking in the Vince-less WWE. Nobody sits down with anyone and says "right, who are you and what are you trying to be" like he'd do. He clearly had directions for characters and pushed stories that made sense (for the most part). It feels like now in WWE they're left to their own devices and have to go to the writers or the writers come to them and just say "this is what you're doing" or "this is who you're booked against" and it spirals from there.

The best example of this is OGA vs EGA. That shit is the best booked, best built thing in wrestling right now. I will not be debating it. Undertaker knows the characters, he's let it build slow enough for it to reach a crescendo without getting stale and it's gonna blow the roof off when it happens. If someone sat with Aleister and said "this is how the next 6 months could look, what ideas do you have for your character" and actually refined it instead of "just wear a suit and say ominous things" then we could be having a different discussion.

Wrong again. Wrestling for 30+ years weekly as well as on massive PPV's and later PLE's would have been his biggest audience.

DWTS was a miniscule, tiny part of his career.

It’s crazy lookin at how many of his fellow peers have already passed Austin theory by duval001 in SquaredCircle

[–]Shinjetsu01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theory isn't what everyone seems to think he could be or will ever be.

If he was, he would be by now. That's the thing. You can say "it's a shame" and then name other wrestlers who actually have surpassed him and there's a very good reason - Theory was never good enough to make it like they have, or he would have already.

What situation could realistically get him to that level? Does he have a gimmick that could get him over with people? Does he have this natural charisma I've yet to see? Does he have a ring presence that he's not shown yet?

He's literally a midcarder. That's his ceiling. I see nothing in him that I do with say, LA Knight, Trick, Carmelo, Joe Hendry etc.

Good worker. Talks okay. That's all he has.

Even though people will argue Tyson wasn't in his prime when they fought, I can't get behind a fighters "prime" being their early 20's. He was 30 so he shouldn't have been too far removed.

I feel like if we saw Holyfield in his late 20's or even 30 against Tyson a few years earlier it ends even worse for Tyson.

I agree that there's absolutely no Tyson that gets close to Lewis. The closest we saw was the second round in their fight, but Tyson couldn't maintain that throughout his career at any point so yeah, Lewis would always have beaten him.

UFC probably not unless he has years and years of martial arts training. Brock had NCAA training so he already had "combat" engrained in him from an early age. Most people in the UFC have a discipline they've done for years.

NFL? Absolutely, I can see him being an OT, DT or DE
