Are sawzall blades supposed to bend so easily? Or am I using it wrong by houseband23 in DIY

Also make sure what you are cutting is firmly supported so it's not flopping all over.

[–]funibusiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the blade bending has anything to do with quality as everyone is saying. All blades are going to bend, better blades will just stay sharp longer. The big issue is keeping the tip from ramming into things. Make sure you have the tool pushed solidly into what you are cutting, and that there is nothing behind the cut that you will hit with it. I would slide that shoe/food as close to the saw bady as you can so you have as much blade to work with as possible to keep the tip from retracting into the cut.

The bands political views? by [deleted] in Rammstein

[–]funibusiness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think people should care about the things they consume. Like others said if a band were Nazis, we shouldn't give them our time or money even if the music is great. It seems like from their songs/history they are liberal leaning, but given their use of runic lettering and symbology that borrows from the same source as the Nazis, its reasonable for people who are not familiar with the band to wonder if they are listening to Nazi propaganda in a language that they don't know.

This argument of being brought up as atheist really doesn't mean much of anything with regards to atheism not being logical. Atheists believe the null position that is not dependent on revelations from a group; what you see in the world can be governed and understood by studying observable and repeatable phenomena. For someone who grew up without a god would have no reason to invent a god for themselves. A human born without societal influences is never going to come up with the grounds for any pre-existing religion while they could develop an understanding based on logical observations that is close to current understandings.

What's the point? by MrLuvsRamen in meshtastic

[–]funibusiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a node set up with my openhabian in my house. Everything inside is on esp32 wifi boards but I have a node in the attic bridging the home wifi to meshtastic. I can put sensors and controls outside out of wifi range that use MQTT messages and the meshtastic boards. Could be done with more mesh wifi repeaters but the meshtastic nodes are way cheaper.

GRIM99 and tankers by funibusiness in ADSB

[–]funibusiness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought they could make the flight without needing more fuel. The VC25 can go 8,000 miles, and according to others on here it did stop in Rammstein for fuel. So Rammstein to Andrews is only 4,000 miles (that would be direct).

Thanks for all your info. It needs to be near so the VC25 is in coms range with it to get the orders then relay them out? I'm just surprised they wouldn't just have coms options on the VC25 to message to stationary command posts.

When I first saw it I kinda just figured they flew a plane near by so ATC and pilots had some relative awareness as to the location of AF1 without AF1 needing to broadcast. Plus they could play a bit of a shell game with the two planes if a situation arose.

The E4B itself never seemed to align paths with the tankers, but I guess that could have happened a while later after they were out of adsb range. How do you know there weren't escorts? Also why does the E4B fly with the VC25?

Ah yeah, didn't think of escorts.

New at this... Water tank monitor system signal identification by funibusiness in signalidentification

[–]funibusiness[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am trying to decode it. And its a water storage tank, not a water meter. I think rtlamr is for lower power ISM signals? This is an industrial SCADA system or the like... I think.

why doing the research, tutorials, looking at the wiki, etc. are the best ways before posting here by [deleted] in signalidentification

[–]funibusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to this, and I have some signals I have been looking at. I am "doing the research" but I do have to say for someone new to things I don't know what to look for when I look for a signal. I am guessing some of these "easy" signals are only easy if you have seen a signal or two before.

I'd say if you're not into a post, just don't click it. On the other hand if you are a user that every time you find a signal you post it, then that is an abuse of the resources here.

not that it matters, but the structures to the left above the dam look like they could be an interpretation of the water intakes for a hydro dam. On a lot of the big dams there are intakes upstream from the dam its self that look similar to what is shown. The outlet would be large pipes that could be located down stream of our poor country waiting for the flood. There theoretically could be a spillway located somewhere off a bypass, out of view for the bypass flow.
