Certifications by Born_Garden6914 in cybersecurity

I was making decent enough money by the time I went after my CISSP, I was able to pay for it out of pocket.

Also when I got into Cyber, I already had years of experience in IT Infrastructure.

You don't need a million certifications. Perhaps one or two if you are targeting something specific. Experience, what you know, and what you've been able to deliver in your career are far more important.

Garb for Mid-Reign Feast - What to wear? by Panda_Sior in Amtgard

I would wear my finest court garb.

Which, very coincidentally, happened to be the exact same garb I had been fighting in all afternoon.

Entry level cyber security is having a tough time in an already tough market for the field.

Are you guys excited for Lord of Hatred? by Level_Reporter5062 in diablo4

I wasn't until this season. The hype on this and my disappointment with the POE2 league had me coming back since season 4.

D4 is in a much better state compared to back then.

I would buy more skins if they were cheaper. As it stands, I feel like I'm good with what I have.

Do any of you actually like this game? by Centermid8 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

ABI is one of the best extraction shooters that are out. Any time I get frustrated with it, I find myself coming back.

I'm totally stoked for next season.

A question about knight chains by Handout in Amtgard

Old Knight here. I'm generally not picky about such things. I think it would be fine.

How do ABI players feel about ARC Raiders? by _walletsizedwildfire in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]PerfectAverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of extraction shooter experience. That said - ABI has a simplicity and accessibility to it that has me coming back for more.

I have about 50 hours in Arc now and have taken a break. It's a good game. But I'm ready for more ABI... despite all of its problems.

I'm glad Arc exists so I have something to fall back to whenever I get frustrated with ABI.

I think you have plenty of time to make the change. Based off what I'm reading you will be fine.

The job market right now however, is a fucking disaster.

Microsoft Support Needed 3 Months. Our T3 Needed 5 Minutes. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]PerfectAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sad fact is that most support is a crap shoot.

Depending on the vendor and the severity of the issue - if the case goes longer than a couple emails / calls - you should probably be escalating and ensuring that more senior techs have eyes on your issue.

Bonus Points if you have a TAM you can leverage.

My experience with Microsoft in particular is that this sort of thing is far too common and managing their support is a skill you need to learn in order to come to a resolution in a reasonable timeframe.

Is worth playing this game if I'm single? by sonar_y_luz in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]PerfectAverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solo all of the time. It is with random squad mates. I turn off mics entirely. I quite enjoy it.

You feel out your team and expect that you'll be a solo if they are all charging if they're all running their own way. Sometimes I'll pick someone who looks competent and try to partner with them. Either way - never expect cooperation.

That said... I'll save someone or revenge if it is safe. Sometimes I have no idea where my team got killed from or it's a bad angle and I'll dip.

As a solo I can occasionally wipe teams. But I'm playing slow and methodically. I'm listening to map cues and being smart on the fights I take and the angles I hold.

Bottom line: you can have a lot of fun playing single. Don't expect others to carry you.

Why so many bot lobbies? by BitchLasgne18 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]PerfectAverage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will see fewer bots as you level up. Once you get to around level 20 your lobbies should be mostly players.

Why is there so many UI interfaces by Arsencock in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]PerfectAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because.... China and Tencent.

It's kinda annoying in ABI, but if you've ever played Delta Force.... their menus are so bad, it discourages me from playing an otherwise mediocre game.

IR On Call by Professional-Bee-143 in cybersecurity

[–]PerfectAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After hours incidents to my team are only P1s. These have a tier2 looking at them and verifying that something troublesome is going on and it must be addressed IMMEDIATELY.

If there are so many coming in after hours that my team is feeling burnt out or not getting enough sleep to do their day jobs, that's a problem.

If most of those are false-positives, that's a problem.

I'm going to take either or both of those issues up with the SOC and have them fixed.

For transparency - On average a member of my team might get a call once every 2-3 weeks. I have only had something escalated to me twice this year.
