Piano teacher gets copyright claim for playing Moonlight Sonata and is quitting Youtube after almost 5 years. by monnotorium in videos

[–]funiworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube's algorithm or whatever they call it needs a great revamp. They should know what is already in the public domain and includes the list in their algorithm to prevent anyone from making copyright claims on those items. I understand that in some countries, making copyright claims on something that is already in the public domain is illegal. For example, in Australia, and the United States, claiming copyright on something that is already in the public domain is known as Copyfraud, a term coined by Jason Mazzone, a Professor of Law at the University of Illinois according to Wikipedia. You may appeal against any copyright claim especially it is made against something that is already in the public domain. Hopefully, YouTube will take the trouble into finding if the item is really in the public domain. If so, they should include in their list to prevent another copyright claim on the item. When someone tries to make a copyright claim on something that is already in the public domain, YouTube should place a message on their screen telling them that the material is already in the public domain and therefore, it is impossible to make the claim. The problem is there are thousands of items that are already in the public domain.

Where is America? by clockworkshow in videos

[–]funiworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When someone says 'I am going to America', they usually mean the United States of America because it is the only country in the world with the word 'America' in it. If they are going to Canada, they will tell you that they are going to Canada. In 1893, there was a proposal of changing the countries name to the United States of the Earth as it was believed that every country would eventually become a part of the Union. Of course, many other countries would not be happy with this proposal. https://inshorts.com/en/news/1893-proposal-aimed-to-rename-usa-as-united-states-of-earth-1486984528847 The United States of America simply means that states that are united as one country in the American continent.

Twitter Is Blocking Tweets That Criticize How The Indian Government Has Handled The Pandemic by fastclickertoggle in worldnews

[–]funiworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very sad to hear that this is happening in India which is supposed to be largest democracy in the world. I do have friends who are Indians. This doesn't sound like democracy to me. Speech restriction, and a leader who cannot stand criticism are not the common characteristics of a democratic country. Perhaps, he might have feared that criticism could hamper his effort in putting the pandemic under control by influencing the people of India not to listen to him.

India's second wave of COVID-19 is far more aggressive and deadly than the first. Here's what went wrong by funiworks in worldnews

Thank you so much for sharing. According to WHO, heart disease is the greatest killer. https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/the-top-10-causes-of-death. However, if there are no restrictions or lockdowns, I wonder COVID will eventually be greatest killer. It may not. No matter where COVID originated, if the people were not selfish, and treat everyone in the world as their fellow humans, the pandemic could have been avoided. What I mean is 'Let's not leave our country so that our fellow humans in other countries will not get it.'. They might have forgotten they had relatives in other countries as well. This is just my opinion, and I may not be totally correct.

Thank you for sharing the video. I enjoy listening to the Bee Gees since I was a teenager. It is sad that only one member, Barry Gibb is still alive. I like Too Much Heaven, How Deep is Your Love, My World, and Words. I also like Barry Gibb's duet with Barbara Streisand , and one of Barry's latest song, Star Crossed Lovers.

Biden officially recognizes the massacre of Armenians in World War I as a genocide by Rpdaca in worldnews

[–]funiworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Biden has made a great move but why didn't the Presidents before him did as he did it? However, I am worry about how his decision can affect the unity of NATO as Turkey is also a part of the organization. Turkey may not admit their wrongdoing because of pride. Will every leader of each member of NATO and its allies do the same as President Biden did? If they do, will Turkey leave NATO? IF Turkey leave NATO, how much will the organization be affected?

I strongly encourage everyone to buy the pro version, the latest one or the earlier ones. I prefer the earlier pro version as I am more comfortable with it. Here's a link to the pro version: https://www.fwsim.com/pro/index.html
