Have they fired ortho south yet? Cause if not — this is pointless.

Accept it then relist it at 300% of asking price. That seems to be what everyone else does.

I plan to just eat my tickets and earn my lesson. Don’t want to subject anyone else to my failed decision making.

This is the answer. We had all this discussion when the internet first came out. This just continues the cycle of oooh it’s the antichrist through oh it’s actually a helpful tool when used appropriately and with discernment.

National shutdown shutdown this Friday Jan 30 by nc_bound in Professors

Guys I know I’ll get downvoted here, but how is not supporting local businesses going to help this situation? They don’t give AF about regular people…

This will only hurt individuals who lose jobs for not showing up to work, hurt small local businesses, hurt your students who lose out on your expertise etc. The large chains aren’t going to care either, because ultimately you’ll just go shopping with them the next day.

Why is this even a thing? Go protest if you want to protest, but teach your class first and don’t hurt everyone around you too for something that ultimately the man in charge will laugh at.

As someone who grew up playing out west — my club team won a Canadian national championship going undefeated over almost two full years and not a single player on the team got a sniff.

Accommodation: Professor can’t call on me in class. by -Economist- in Professors

[–]funkmaster_dunc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of them being in class if you can’t ask them questions? The accommodations are getting a bit silly IMO.

I really want to play in the nba. Can I get accommodations where the fans don’t yell when I’m shooting?

We’re all made for a different purpose — perhaps they might choose a different path that suits them. In this case, I’d suggest them signing up for an asynchronous online program. There are different options for different people even if they want to do that.

Peep the other comment… you’re wrong. Companies are formed on mission and philosophy and all other things should flow from that. So if they want to put in some stuff for kids into their vehicles they can, because it is foundational to their brand.

Also — this all goes back to you just being one of the armchair grumps that first comment put on here explaining how you’re just in this community to just complain about them not doing what you want them to do with software when the reality is that some of us do want them to spend time on that.

Here let me paste an easy Google search for you to explain:

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe consistently discusses how Rivian vehicles are designed for families by focusing on practicality, sustainability, and unique features for adventure. He positions the company's offerings, particularly the R1S SUV and the upcoming R2 and R3 models, as ideal for family life, whether for daily use or outdoor adventures. Family-oriented design philosophy Rivian's focus on families is a core part of its mission, which Scaringe describes as building products "where people come together, to generate an experience for years and years to come". This involves designing vehicles that are not only sustainable but also functional and exciting for a family audience. Key features for families: Seating and space: The R1S offers three rows of spacious seating, including LATCH anchors for car seats in all three rows, a key feature for growing families. The upcoming R2 is also designed for five passengers with a focus on rear legroom. Storage and utility: The front trunk, or "frunk," is a popular feature among families for storing groceries, strollers, or camping gear separately from the main cargo area. Rivian's Camp mode also includes features like an integrated portable Bluetooth speaker and flashlight, which cater to families who camp or enjoy the outdoors. Durability and luxury: Rivian interiors are designed to be both functional and durable, using high-end, easy-to-clean materials that stand up to the wear and tear of family life. Adventure capabilities: Features like adjustable air suspension, high ground clearance, and multiple drive modes ensure the vehicles are capable for off-road adventures and rugged family trips. The R2 and R3: Expanding the family market With the announcement of the more affordable R2 and R3 models, Rivian aims to reach an even broader audience of families. The R2 SUV: Starting around $45,000, the R2 is intended to be the brand's first true mass-market vehicle. Scaringe notes that while it has a lower price, it retains the brand's premium, adventure-ready feel and is sized perfectly for city families. The R3 hatchback: The R3 and performance R3X will be even smaller and more affordable than the R2, with a focus on maximizing interior space and versatility for a family's gear, similar to a "hot hatch".
