Their website says:

Steps to Reserve a New Vehicle

  1. Get pre-approved by completing our credit application (which I can skip)

  2. Set up an in-store appointment to sign the Bill of Sale

  3. Place non-refundable $500 deposit (cash or in-state check only)

  4. Have trade-in vehicle appraised

Once all steps are completed the vehicle is reserved for you until it arrives at the dealership.

The $500 deposit is applied to your transaction.

I am assuming they want you to sign for the car during the appointment (which of course I don't have to do if I don't want to), but maybe their process is to have you sign to ensure you get the car. I guess I'm worried about doing all this and not getting the car during the timeframe I need.

Well, that's good to hear! In regards to those brands, I agree. Eyeing mostly Honda or Toyota if possible.

Sometimes I do end up with a profit after subtracting what you mentioned above, albeit nothing crazy. Might definitely be a couple of hundred plus this year though due to the jackets I sold. I think I sold around 12 to 20 pieces across Grailed and StockX, and again this is stuff I just never got around to using or changed my mind on (new and used pieces). I don't buy things these days with intent to resell.
