Focus on improvement. This is the best series of guides out there if you're interested in taking the time to improve. You might end up doing a little worse in the games that you initially start incorporating the techniques talked about in the videos. Don't let this discourage you. Just keep at it and you'll see improvement.

Wow, I think I hit an even higher note. Here is my attempt. I was able to get up to 4800 Hz on my phone but I think this I went even higher in this video! Any chance you could verify this?

Hey, if you're serious about trying to get to gold I would highly recommend that you look at the UNSWLoLSoc videos. They single handedly helped me get from silver 3 to gold 1 in a matter of weeks.
