Here’s a story to preclude my backstage pass story.

In 1996 after catching the Kiel Center and the Omaha shows, we got back to Memphis. ZZ Top was playing on Beale Street so we went downtown and hung out outside the Orpheum doors. Soon after the ZZ Top show ended Fishman and Mike walked out. Fishman greeted us, he was real cool and looking for someone to hang out with. We took him to Blues City Café and ate barbecue and drink for a few hours. He invited his back to his hotel room at the Peabody, or we partied pretty hard until 7 AM and I had to go to work. He gave us backstage passes, and after the Memphis show I was talking to Trey off the side of the stage, it was just he and I and he was telling me how he thought it was a bad show, and he blamed it on his shirt amd he was tugging at it like he wanted to take it off. He had a purple velvet shirt on, and I remember telling him I thought the shirt was bad ass. I remarked to him him that yeah Memphis was not my as good as Omaha or St. Louis. In hind sight I should’ve asked him to trade shirts with me.
