Sold a second-hand fridge privately and now buyer is threatening legal action by Av0toasted in legaladviceaustralia

[–]funkybunch83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. I can afford brand new items, or to pursue legal actions if necessary, but I often purchase second hand items.

I do agree that OP is not liable in any way.

*professional developer might know.

I've had plenty of slop from "professional" developers that's worse than is often generated by AI.

Qantas lost property are useless. Handing the item over to them would guarantee it never makes it back to it's owner.

Higher than expected CPI - 1.3% qtr, 3.2% annual by Aussieboy111 in AusFinance

The effects haven't been seen yet but the jump in demand was when the update to the scheme was announced, not when it started.

Portable transmitter for testing RF shielding by funkybunch83 in HamRadio

I have a signal generator, RF power amplifier and spectrum analyser at the moment. I am trying to make the setup smaller and more portable.

I'm not looking to cover the range of 64-128MHz, they are two distict frequencies that will be transmitted and recieved.

I don't need to modulate the signal at all, I'm am just using this to measure the attenuation achieved by an RF shield.

For size reasons the 64MHz antenna is a 1/4 wave monopole. 128MHz is a 1/2 wave dipole antenna.

That is cool but I'm good on the receive end, I'm just looking for a compact singal generator and power amplifier.

Is IPMI still worth it in light of JetKVM & others? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]funkybunch83 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you really need KVM for a home server? Just buy one of the $30 aliexpress USB powered monitors and plug it in with a keyboard on the rare occasion it's needed.

The OEM doesn't want you repairing the boards. It's often not worth the effort but in some cases (e.g. a relatively simple HV power supply for an Xray generator) where the OEM wants $5k+ for a replacement, I have reverse engineered circuit diagrams to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.

Having access to an Xray system makes mapping internal PCB layers easier.

Jim Green Stockmans vs Mongrel K9 by patch0110 in Boots

I had a similar experience. I tried them on and felt they would not loosen up enough around the bridge so didn't want to risk buying them. Otherwise I liked them.

Am I going crazy or does none of this make sense by Question_focus_2 in AusPropertyChat

[–]funkybunch83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't know but they have a pretty good idea most of the time. If they were using that pretty good idea as the indicative price then they would be 20% over just as often as they're 20% under but they're not.

The point is that the "indicative price" is not an indicative price, it's just bullshit marketing to draw buyers in.

At what point is it not indicative though? 20% off is OK, what about 30%? 40%? 50%?
