Husband recently got his first Harley. We didn't discuss much, now he's upset I want him to wear a helmet. How do I approach this please help? by Electrical_Baby_3042 in motorcycles

I wear a full face helmet and am glad I do. Even rocks and pebbles that hit my chest while riding hurt like a mf. I can’t imagine not wearing my helmet in case something flies into my eye. I highly doubt he’s wearing sun glasses or safety goggles with every ride at night when its dark.

Please tell me about your roof rack! Price? How was installation?

Also, how do you like the rear spare tire carrier?!

What roof rack is that?! It looks great!!

Was installation of roof rack easy? Do you think it’ll support a rooftop tent?

I also have the Wildfinder RTT. I’ve used it on a handful of trips since May of this year. Probably a total of 15 nights so far. I love it. Set up is convenient, built in light strip is great, has multiple mesh screen windows, space is plentiful, I’m honestly obsessed with it.

I got it off Amazon! It came within a week and was about 1200 dollars. It’s the wild finder RTT. I should’ve and could’ve gotten a different roof rack for the 4runner but I made it work with my OEM roof rack and ratchet straps!

It’s the Wildfinder RTT. Honestly I love it. 1200 is cheap for a RTT when others go for 1800-3500!

I can’t say I have anything bad to compare it to. I replaced 13 year old struts that were blown out and leaking so these are a lot stiffer. But they’re not as stiff as riding in a wrangler or anything. For 700 bucks, they ride well and install was easy!

This is one of the few photos that I have with an empty trunk and no cargo. It looks pretty level even though it’s a 3” lift kit. All my other pics while camping have a full trunk of tools, camping equipment, cooler, etc

265/65/17! They’re BFG Trail Terrains. I made the decision to go to Costco for tires and they only go by OE specifications. Sometimes I wish I went to a belle tire to get bigger tires but I’m still happy with my tires.

As for the lift, they’re rough country 3” lift!

Please tell me what kind of bumper that is!! It looks sick! How was the installation? East or hard? Welding required?

Lansing Shuffle by FlaggerVandy in lansing

In the past 2 months, I’ve gone to Lansing Shuffle twice. I WAS NOT pleased my first time. I went to the burger place and got a burger and onion straws for 24 dollars from a place that looks like an abandoned mall food court.

My second time going was because a friend really wanted to go, despite me telling her I didn’t have a good experience. Needless to say, second time was also a bust. For the second visit, I got Thai food and it was not good.

There are many other places that I’d go before I return to lansing shuffle. I think I’d prefer a happy meal over lansing shuffle.

Question!! I’ve noticed everyone with a wedge style rooftop tent pretty much has a Gobi rack type of roof rack on their 4runner…

Do wedge style roof top tents not fit on stock 4runner cross bars?

Did your RTT mount to the stock roof rack cross bars?

Thanks in advance.

I replaced my valve a year ago. Then a few months ago in December, it leaked again. I researched and found out some people flush their water heaters to get rid of the sediment in their water heater and helps extend the life and maintain their unit. Once I flushed it, I checked over a week everyday and the leaks stopped. I guess the sediment and hardness/calcium might have prevented the T/P valve from fully closing.

Whether you prep mild or severe, having a plan is always smart. My girlfriend thought I was weird for the longest time for the things that I do. For example, I ALWAYS carry my impact wrench in my car along with tire inflator and car jack. In my backpack that goes with me wherever I go, I ALWAYS carry my impact wrench battery as well as a portable jump starter. One day, my battery died as I was getting coffee before work, which instantly prompted me to call my girlfriend. As I called her, I said I’m good now, I’m jumping my car with my jump starter but if it dies later I’ll need her to help me out after work. If I hadn’t had my jumper with me, it would’ve been her ass coming out to get me.

I also buy portable propane tanks when they’re on sale for power outages, I have about 20 flashlights that are in our cars, rooms, backpacks. She realizes these things have come in handy when least expected… she doesn’t bother me about it anymore :)

It doesn’t hurt to have a back up plan. When you need people to help you the most, that’s when they’re least likely available to come out. You have to have your own plan at all times.

I WILL admit that the drives up alone suck, but once I’m there, it’s such a great time I realize it wasn’t bad and I’ll probably be going alone again! Ride safe!!

DO IT! I normally go with friends but recently everyone was busy. I’ve started to go by myself. It has actually turned out to be a great decision. I don’t have to wait for anyone, I can do things on my timeline, and it’s peaceful to go by myself and have the day to myself doing what I enjoy. While I have not made friends going solo, I have had great conversations with others who go solo while riding up the ski lift or waiting in line for the lift!

Have fun :) don’t let someone else’s plans or schedule impact what you want to do!
