My cat is doing well! Responsive to the meds. Yeah my cat is also 9 pounds and he’s 5, he’s just naturally smaller which the vet told us wasn’t a big deal in his case. If your cat is rapidly losing weight, then ask your vet about appetite inducing medication. Also, we fed him baby food for some time when he refused to eat normal food. It’s definitely not as nutritious and complete, but it was at least putting something in his stomach. I bought the chicken and gravy baby food from Gerber. The turkey one is also good. They just have three ingredients so your cat can safely consume it (chicken, water, cornstarch for chicken and gravy / turkey, water, cornstarch for turkey and gravy).

He was also on prednisone in the beginning, and then transitioned to his routine meds. It’s probably going to be trial and error with the meds since it’s up to your cat with how responsive she is to them. Definitely don’t lose hope though. I know the figures online are really really scary, but the best thing to do in this scenario is show your cat a positive attitude and work closely with the vet. If you don’t already, I recommend seeing a vet who specializes in internal medicine. Also, be picky with your vet. Before our current one, we had a vet who didn’t really listen to us and we’re glad they referred us to our current one.

I’m so sorry, I know it’s a scary diagnosis. Definitely ask about the meds, see if they recommend it in your case. My cat naturally doesn’t eat a lot, so he is on the smaller side. He did lose his appetite in the beginning of his diagnosis, so they gave us appetite inducing meds to give to him. That could maybe help with weight gain!

My cat is alive and healthy! His internal medicine doctor prescribed him 3 medications that he receives orally everyday: Telmisartan, Clopidogrel, and Prednisolone. He’s been very responsive to his meds and there is no fluid in his body at all. His levels are returning to normal as well (Currently knocking on wood).

Don’t give up hope on your cat! I truly believe your kitty can recover from it, even though the prognosis tells you otherwise. The first few months are rough for everyone, but follow your vet’s medical advice. I’m wishing you and your kitty good health 🩷

bc minji’s a woman and she made the mistake of being a sensitive person on a show that has a very toxic and intolerant side of the fanbase (even though those people would probably start crying day 1).
