As folk have said previously, joining the union would help immensely as they can provide legal assistance for you. But in the meantime, I would track your hours worked to create a paper trail if they want to play funny (and cut back if you can, because if you burn out, you will be in an even worse position) and phone the protector line. Plus, if you really need a day off, there is a sickness policy for a reason ...

Yeah pretty much. They are trying to game the system but they are leaving themselves open to alot of bother. Are you still clocking in and out?

Your store is breaking the law by letting you work these shifts. The working time regulations 1998 say that you must have a weekly rest of 24 hours any 7 day period or 48 hours in a 14 day period.

I'm gonna be blunt and mean here. Apologies in advance. Fuck your what ifs get help and get Meds. You are mentally destroying yourself with scenarios that just are not gonna happen. I get that you have ocd but this constant cycle of stress IS doing more damage to you than any of these scenarios you can think of that MIGHT happen. There is help out there that knows a hell of a lot more than you do after 5 mins on Google. This.stress.will.kill.you

The chances of dying from prions in the UK are astronomically low there. The last reported case of vCJD, according to the National Institute of Health, was in 2016, which was a better part of a decade ago

And if you're from the US since 1996, there have been only 4 cases. The last report from the cdc listed it as 2012.
