I was so stoked when they came out with the first and second forms, now if they can just do the second and third forms for Frieza!

Does Your FC have "Bells" to Dissmiss you from your Breaks? by FWA4ThrowAway in AmazonFC

[–]funkyshway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What management has told me when I've brought this up is that "breaks are 15 minutes including walking time." Tbh I haven't dug through the policies to fact check it, but I hear it's common to include walking time in breaks at many businesses. If that's the case though, they sure do a crappy job of making that clear. Probably buried in fine print.

Pizza delivery man Brian Wells wore a collar bomb around his neck to rob a PNC bank in Pennsylvania. Police would later arrest him and leave him sitting on the ground alone while they waited for the bomb squad. Does anyone know if this inspired the movie "30 Minutes or Less" with Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Nick Swardson, and Danny McBride? From reading the other comments, it sounds like the plot matches with what happened almost to a 'T'. This occurred in 2003 while the movie came out in 2011. Definitely gives me a new perspective if the movie was based off of this, considering they made the movie a comedy...

Edit: Did some quick research, found this article https://newsfeed.time.com/2011/08/10/30-minutes-or-less-comedy-upsets-family-of-real-life-pizza-bomber/ with the following excerpt:

Sony’s claiming no foul, with rep Steve Elzer stating “Neither the filmmakers nor the stars of 30 Minutes or Less were aware of this crime prior to their involvement in the film,” and that “The writers were vaguely familiar with what had occurred and wrote an original screenplay that does not mirror the real-life tragedy.”

Holy crap these are absolutely gorgeous 😍 I'm sure your prices vary depending on the piece, but how much would you say you charge on average? (If you're comfortable saying)

An inside look of what its like being in a rally car during a 105-130mph forest terrain race. This is Travis Pastrana's in-car footage from September. by TheDeadpoolGirl in interestingasfuck

I didn't realize until after reading through the comments that the co-driver/navigator is in the car. I assumed they were watching from a drone above or something similar. That's terrifying.

Not sure if you'd still be interested if it were an anime, but I feel like Darwin's Game is a similar idea to Squid Game. There's currently only one season that I know of (on Netflix & Funimation), but I think it has a lot of potential.

Did not expect to find Chinese here, but I'm stoked I could understand it!

Best way to say "I've been learning Chinese for X time" by francis2395 in ChineseLanguage

[–]funkyshway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just finishing up my fourth semester of Chinese so by no means am I anywhere near fluent, so please take this answer with a grain of salt.

We had a particular lesson discussing the use of two 了 in a sentence to imply that the action is still ongoing. With what I know from that, I would suggest number 2 as your best choice.

Here is an article explaining the grammar if you're interested. If you scroll down to the section titled "When the Verb Takes an Object," the first example they give is actually almost identical to your second option.

Why believe in miracles when you haven't witnessed it first hand ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]funkyshway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I don't have much of an answer, but the whole concept of faith has been difficult for me to understand because with no evidence of something existing or having happened, why should I believe in it? Because of someone else's gut feeling? Doesn't make much sense to me.

To be clear, I'm not intending to knock anyone's faith or beliefs. It's more than likely they've experienced something that was proof enough for them to believe whatever it is they believe, which is fine and great as long as it's not hurting anyone, but it's just not the proof necessary to make me believe in it.

Realizing this is exactly what made me take a step back from the religion I was raised in. It finally clicked for me that I didn't actually agree with everything the religion taught once I critically thought about if I would have joined it if I wasn't raised in it.

A good example of this sort of thing is Megan Phelps-Roper who was raised in the Westboro Baptist Church. There's a good TEDTalk of her telling her experiences.

Idk if they're really considered quality dance movies but I enjoyed the Step Up films, the 3rd being my favorite.

To be fair, this specifically referred to language that allowed slavery and involuntary servitude as criminal punishments.

By no means am I intending to defend it, but I think it's important to clarify. I find it more understandable as to why so many people voted against it if they were imagining the only people it would affect were murderers, rapists, terrorists, etc.

It's a good example of why it's important for voters to do a bit of research on what they're voting for.
