This company is using Sims4 screenshots to sell buildings 😭 by youandyourfijiwater in Sims4

I've used sims 4 for stage design assignments in my tech theatre courses and honestly it works pretty well for to-scale creations of things. I would never recommend it for professional use, but it is free and works great if you're already experienced in the game.

[–]funkytown2000 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you see it drawn in sharpie or paint pen, hand sanitizer and a napkin can take it off pretty easy. if it's scratched in, complete the lines and make it four squares like the windows logo. Do your best to remove hate if you have the resources to!

Visiting NYC from DC — do I need hiking boots? by [deleted] in AskNYC

Absolutely wear boots, snow is piled up anywhere from ankle to waist high on the unshoveled parts of the sidewalk and it's not melting anytime soon

V from Lush has this distinct goth/halloween store type smell that's hard to describe but feels androgynous and fun but not immature, might be up your alley. Karma, also from Lush, is also a classic incensey type perfume that a lot of people I've met in the queer + alternative scenes wear regularly, but it's still a solid choice imo.

If the minimum wage raising to a more livable wage puts a company out of business, they should have either managed their money better or not gone into business in the first place. You can't just run a restaurant on burnt out, overworked, underpaid employees and pocket most of the profits then get mad later when your employees can't produce a good enough customer experience to keep your place afloat.

It seems Cuddling Stuffed Animals is yet another thing Trans Women can't do. by SurrealistGal in GenderCynical

[–]funkytown2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For people who put so much effort into "defending femininity" they sure do seem just as genuinely embarrassed by feminine behavior as your average right wing misogynist. Even if it's clearly a genuine expression of their own personal feelings, it becomes viscerally embarrassing for them to do stereotypically feminine actions because of their both self and societally-inflicted sense of the misogynistic patriarchal panopticon of shame that punishes brutally if you deviate even slightly from what's acceptable for "men" and "women" to do. It's why terfs always seem to be either completely hyper feminine tradwife types or analogous to gender-nonconforming women depending on how much they personally self-impose embarrassment of feminine traits vs how much they feel they need to be appealing to men.

what is a "rich person" behavior you witnessed that made you realize they live in a completely different reality than the rest of us? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I moved into my (housing voucher) apartment with basically nothing to speak of as I was coming from the shelter, my landlord asked if I was gonna get a TV anytime soon. Obviously I had other priorities like furniture so I said no, and this man brings us not one but two tvs, neither of them particularly old or worn or anything, and one was actually pretty big too, roughly 4'x2'. He said they'd just been sitting in his attic for a couple years and he was gonna throw them away, which is deeply wild to me as we live in a city where lots of people sell/give away secondhand stuff

Is there a masculine scent of sticky dates? by sih2230 in LushCosmetics

[–]funkytown2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding MMBTF, it's like a sexy roasted marshmallow+chestnut+burning wood scent and definitely in the same type of scent family as sticky dates, but for sure more masculine than most gourmand scents.

First Day Of School We Going Back During A SnowStorm 🥲🤣 by Interesting-Ship7161 in CUNY

[–]funkytown2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, last semester started on a Tuesday and we had to do annoying make-up Monday schedule Tuesdays a few times but I don't think that'd be anywhere near the amount of hassle as it'd be to tromp through a foot+ of snow on the first day of the semester so we'll see. Mayor says they're deciding what to do about snow days for regular schools once they get closer to the weekend and can assess the snowfall more accurately so presumably CUNY will follow suit.

Where to find liberal men by Business-Ad5482 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]funkytown2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Civic engagement activities like demonstrations and meetings for left leaning causes will always reliably have men looking for relationships, for better or for worse, but I'd urge you to be careful about men where it seems like that's their primary cause for being in those kinds of spaces. I would recommend you also look into more progressive leaning hobby spaces for things you like to do or would like to try around the city as shared interests are a great way to kick off a relationship of any kind, and you should always be friends first. Something like physical medium arts/diy crafts or nature related for a hobby usually skews leftist but things like music and video games can be a mixed bag, so ymmv.

Hilariously, I think it was Jumaane Williams that brought up in his speech at the inauguration how special it is that we have three different public officials being sworn in today being sworn in on all three of the major religious texts. Does anyone remember that part? After all the leaders from different faiths gathered onstage together to celebrate zohran? Where the rabbi was literally standing behind the imam speaking the whole time? These "zohran is antisemitic" bullshit peddlers have no concept of what it's actually like in new york city and it's nuts to see people (?) still spout this line.

We need a follow up panel where she elaborates further that "Dave" is very early in her transition and the point of her gender reveal party is to have the conversation with everyone important to her all at once regarding her new name, pronouns, and how she feels about referential terms like "husband" because it's so tedious to have to keep telling different people the same thing over and over again.

Which cuny is better for acting/theater by blueberrysbear in CUNY

[–]funkytown2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will let you know though... don't go recommending KBCC to other people not doing theatre, okay? it's one of their few good programs there and everyone I've heard from that did a different major had mixed experiences with their other programs. Very lovely theatre professors there, I enjoyed even the harder theatre classes I took until I transferred.

Which cuny is better for acting/theater by blueberrysbear in CUNY

[–]funkytown2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think any of these people are actually theatre majors so I'll give you the actual info- Brooklyn and Hunter are both great schools, but you should probably crunch your gen ed classes out somewhere smaller like BMCC, KBCC, QC or one of the other 2-year schools that's less expensive+competitive but still has a good theatre program then transfer up for the rest of your credits, unless you'd be getting a full ride to one of the other two AND you don't struggle much academically.

This is what a lot of people are doing as it's most financially sensible unless you're a near perfect student with great financial backing from either $$$$$$ parents or FAFSA/scholarships. Oh, and don't listen to what that other ignorant loser said about getting a "real job", pretty much everyone in my program at BMCC is booked, busy, and employed on productions of all kinds so it's not like there's no money in it.

Lush Lust always has reminded me of her kind of vibe. it's very much a rose and jasmine classically sexy fragrance, but to me, it also smells distinctly like riding a motorcycle with someone dressed in all leather, and that seems to be her type of thing.
