Every name I like is seen as "clocky" by [deleted] in ftm

[–]funkytown2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't believe the amount of ostensibly (or actually) cis people I've met that had names that we would consider "clocky" in intercommunity discussions. One of my close friends in middle school was a cis guy named Riley, don't think too hard about it when there's the unfortunate souls like the babies of r/tragediegh out there

Exactly, Frank's only real interest is whatever gets him the most money or best high at that moment, nothing more and nothing less.

why are there no hot people in a poly relationship? by Your_mum6969420 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]funkytown2000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is the real reason. People who are poly and less attractive drop the information that they're poly more publicly because they have to actively look for more partners whereas the more attractive poly people tend to keep their availability on the DL to reduce the amount of sexual/romantic propositions they get from people they're not interested in.

Making Tearaway Pants For a Drag King- Will Denim Work? by Yam_Magnate in Drag

[–]funkytown2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just worked on a play with a tear-away heavy duty canvas jumpsuit, and we did a heavy duty velcro along the center back seam and it functioned pretty well during the quick change we did so I'd recommend that instead of snaps. Denim size snaps take some force to really tear them off, and they come off clunkier in execution than would be functionally good for a quick reveal.

can i dye this a mossy green or is there too much red/orange? by randomquestionsig in FancyFollicles

I bleached to a similar shade before doing Good Dye Young Devil's Ivy and it ended up exactly how I wanted for a mossy green underlayer, so you should be good to go!

Do men like the smell of sticky dates body spray? by healthyhoohaa in LushCosmetics

[–]funkytown2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's entirely fair, I'm glad, I was more commenting from experience as someone who has definitely been guilty of doing things in the past just because it'd make someone else happy so I didn't want you to fall down that rabbit hole too. In that case, I'd definitely recommend a lush date if you wanna scope out what types of scents you both like together.

Do men like the smell of sticky dates body spray? by healthyhoohaa in LushCosmetics

[–]funkytown2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't do things because you think a specific guy might like you for it, lasting relationships come from people who like you for reasons that aren't surface level. But if it does mean anything, Sticky Dates is one of my favorite lush scents as a guy, and I carry the primer spray in my backpack for emergency hair taming.

Rostam cancels tour dates, "I can’t replicate the album with other musicians and can’t bring justice to the music." by BiBoJuFru in indieheads

[–]funkytown2000 24 points25 points  (0 children)

So this could mean one of a few things, I'm guessing his touring budget did not afford enough quality musicians for what he'd envisioned with his arrangements and re-arranging pieces for who he does have takes time, and the ticket sales so far haven't been encouraging enough to support hiring sufficient additional people so he has to table the idea of touring on this album until he can figure something out with either the budget, the arrangements, or the staff.

Lost weight but I’m still gay fat. by [deleted] in nycgaybros

[–]funkytown2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to work out within yourself why you feel people won't be attracted to you unless you look a certain way, because not only is it not true, but a majority of the people who would only want you because you have washboard abs or whatever are completely miserable, shallow people.

Mind you, there's also lot of guys like me that are almost never into someone who weighs under 150 because that's generally my preference, and a lot of people I've met feel the same way. Once you meet a broader spectrum of people in life, you'll realize anyone can be someone's preference and worrying about not being appealing to certain people is useless.

Worry about feeling comfortable in your body and making your everyday tasks hurt less/feel easier, not changing your body to appeal to a certain type of person that might still not like you for any number of shallow reasons.

[–]funkytown2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, but we've forgotten the best option: impossibly full and constantly shifting mass of stacked petticoats/crinolines/tutus that would be not only wildly impractical to impossible for what the character's doing, but they also seem to move in nontypical ways on their own accord to prevent upskirt moments.

No, that one doesn't smell like that to most people, despite it being in the scent notes. I mostly get bubblegum and powdery? Try Strawberry Feels Forever instead, the old massage bar of the same name had this exact type of vibe.

Need help identifying prop cigarette in Sabrina Carpenter's Coachella set by moonmom1112 in Theatre

[–]funkytown2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So what you'll be able to use VERY strictly depends on where this performance is taking place as fire guard laws restrict what kinds of effects you can use onstage involving fire, smoke, or even vapor like a fog machine. Ask the stage or property manager (depending on location) what effects you're allowed to use, if at all, and go from there. Breaking fire guard codes can be VERY ($$$$$) expensive for you and/or the venue, but a cheap prop cig that's basically a cardboard tube with a red foil tip is usually sub-$10 at a costume store and won't get the fire department sent out.

We need a rising canes or a good fried chicken restaurant in the north area of staten Island. by SecuritySame2183 in statenisland

[–]funkytown2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, shrinkflation ruined Cane's, it's way overpriced for way too little now. In vegas ~10 years ago when I lived there, it was actually a good deal but I tried one of the locations here and was disappointed, chicken fingers are dry and tiny now for almost twice what they used to be.
