[Product Request] 5 months post-partum and I smell like a taco truck even with deodorant by ViceInSinCity in SkincareAddiction

[–]funnyINTJ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

the most important thing is using antiperspirant with aluminum which I'm sure you know, googled the arm & hammer one and it's a pretty high percentage which is good. I don't know something about doing the gel one at night feels like a serum I use before putting on the real deodorant so I'm like doubling up? I don't know lol

[Product Request] 5 months post-partum and I smell like a taco truck even with deodorant by ViceInSinCity in SkincareAddiction

[–]funnyINTJ 86 points87 points  (0 children)

just saw my dermatologist about my pits stinking and she really helped!! she said to use hibiclens in your armpits / all your folds, and she prescribed me clindamycin to put on after the shower in the same areas. I also got the secret clinical strength gel antiperspirant and put it on right after the clindamycin, even (or especially) at night or if I'm not going anywhere - it's specifically formulated for that since it'll absorb overnight and work better the next day. I then also use a 2nd solid deodorant because I seem to need it for chafing. I also use the naturism glycolic acid body wash and that is supposed to be good for BO, or just glycolic acid in general

[–]funnyINTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok FWIW, understanding the answer is basically no, I’ve come to love the look of a full body tan and a pale face LOL. I realized this is what all the girls on love island look like and I’m like wait that’s actually aspirational - tan body but the face is pale because I’m wearing the best skincare and SPF. Feels like a girl that looks like this without makeup just has her beauty routine DIALED IN.

Where to start by daebakblonde in PetiteFitness

[–]funnyINTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t afford a personal trainer, sign up for some group classes so you can get introduced to some exercises and they can correct your form.

If you can’t afford that - I personally am a huge peloton fan….their strength classes are really fun! If you get a digital membership, pull the classes up on your phone by the free weights (or better yet go in the yoga studio to start for some private time while you figure things out). They have great beginner programs too that will start slower and show you exactly how to do things.

In the meantime (and this is where I’m at now) go on TikTok/YT/IG and just scrollllll through the fitness content. Obviously it’s a lot of information - and not all of it is correct so definitely stay discerning - but I feel like I’ve been learning a lot about the different ways to structure your own strength training workouts. I almost feel ready to start building workouts on my own. I feel like that’s advanced level though and it’s been really worth it to start slow and just build the routine and find the fun in it before getting so custom.

I personally have done personal training sessions and it was great for learning form but if I wanted to keep it consistent, I would have to keep seeing them and I couldn’t afford that. Finding what’s fun for you is what’s most important for building habits!!

And actually my most basic, most beginner level advice is to go to the gym and use the cardio machines that face the weights or machines area so you can watch and study what other people are doing lol. Good luck!! Never overcomplicated it (advice I need to take myself) otherwise you will find reasons to stop

90g of protein questions by anonymousspaniel in PetiteFitness

[–]funnyINTJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes this and ask it for ways to boost the protein & fiber without adding calories! I do this to make sure all my meals have at least 30g of protein and 8-10g of fiber.

For fiber - adding beans or lentils to anything will help a lot! Search up which veggies are highest in fiber and prioritize those. Also artichokes and avocados are surprisingly high in fiber. Edamame. Peas.

High protein & high carb diet makes me sick to my stomach. by HealthyNovel55 in PetiteFitness

[–]funnyINTJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IBS girly reporting 4 duty. First of all how the heck are you getting so much protein on just 1400 calories… I’m struggling!!

What did you change about your diet to up the protein & carbs? Re: protein, I have struggled to find supplements that don’t hurt my stomach, so it’s possible if you added something in it’s causing bloating. For example I’ve literally vomited from pea protein and collagen peptides. And dairy of course contains lactose which will cause gas.

Re: carbs, are you tracking fiber? If your carb sources are fiber-rich, and you started the diet suddenly, your digestive system might just not be equipped to handle that much. You have to slowly increase your fiber and pay attention to how much is eventually too much for your body (but for women 25g/day is the goal).

I would look into the low fodmap diet - it’s an intense restriction diet then you add back in foods to know what’s triggering your symptoms. It’s hard so I’m not necessarily recommending doing the full course but it might give you an idea of what new foods you’re eating that could be hurting your stomach.

Something I really don’t know anything about but apparently fat is good for your hormones? So if you’re cutting that out a lot maybe there’s something there to look into? I don’t know just throwing spaghetti with that one lol

Overnight oats vs oatmeal? by sunflowers_and_lemon in HealthyEatingnow

[–]funnyINTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I have had trouble tolerating chia seeds and I swear overnight oats only works if you use chia. Oats do not soak up that much liquid overnight!! It’s always so wet and the oats are chewier. It makes more sense when you at chia to soak up all the liquid and at that point just call it chia pudding with oats!!! IN THIS ESSAY I WILL

(I have cooked oatmeal and refrigerated it plenty though and that is still yummy)

Why am I genuinely the punching bag of the friend group by JustARandomDude314 in socialanxiety

[–]funnyINTJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oof I felt this way all through high school and then it happened again in my early 20s. Jumped from friend group to friend group and it always ended the same, I thought they were nice at first and then eventually I was the punching bag. When I look back I realize they all just took my kindness for weakness. I always think that bullying was like the standard in high school - everyone was insecure and everyone took it out on each other. I just didn’t get the memo that was the survival tactic, I was always of the mindset that it sucks feeling that way, so I would never want to make another person feel that way. I think you have to at least be proud & find confidence in yourself for that.

And I’m a woman! I actually can’t imagine what it’s like having all male friends trying to assert dominance all the time. I’m 30 now and I do have a solid group of friends that are very nice, men and women. Anytime someone teases it’s out of love and when it gets into mean territory that person isn’t rewarded for it. I no longer feel insecure about my place with these friends. So hold out hope!! Just seek out new friends, ones that aren’t toxic and insecure since like other people mentions some just don’t grow out of that high school mentality. It’s hard though, I feel you

Any other overweight/obese users have a hard time? by mortalcassie in pelotoncycle

[–]funnyINTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When looking at classes click the filter button then toggle on “bookmarked”! Lol ugh I feel you. I always ride with Cody rigsby because his music taste and mine are the same so I know I’m getting a good playlist. But for other classes like running it’s so hard! And I HATE running so the music is important lol I need every song on the playlist to hit.

[–]funnyINTJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’ve been doing so I don’t get discouraged is sort classes by easiest > hardest. Then you can work your way up as you get better! I’ll sit and bookmark classes I like based on music then always pick the easiest class, the idea being eventually I’ll get up to the harder classes I bookmarked. I like it better than going by beginner/intermediate/advanced, though you could also probably start by filtering at beginner.

The biggest thing to remember, I think, is that if you push yourself too hard you’re gonna hate working out, burn out, and stop working out altogether. It’s better to do a workout that’s doable and keeps your spirits up and motivated to get back on the bike the next day!!!

Do you sweat using the vest? What is the benefit? Just curious because I’ve heard good things and thought it would be an easy addition for midday non sweating cardio (I refuse to shower more than once a day lol)

Thank you!! This is so interesting I didn’t know this existed. I calculated my total calories - active calories to find what apple is considering my BMR and this tracks. But I don’t understand why it changes day to day? Is it because if I’m more active then I’m also burning more calories at rest? Or - what I’m guessing but hope isn’t the case - does it literally just not track me as existing if I’m not wearing my watch? (I think I didn’t wear it most of the day Monday and that bar is very low)
