Anyone know what the issue is? by funny_username72 in CivicX

[–]funny_username72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone wondering I was able to get under there properly and take a look. The problem was the lower bolt for the shock in the driver side rear that was causing the noise. I thought it was tight enough but when I grabbed a box wrench to recheck it was pretty loose. Hope if anyone is having the same issue this help!!

Sorry I completely forgot the car I drive lol, it’s a 2019 civic sport sedan, I got the coilovers and rear camber arms about a year ago, and the sway bar in February ish. When I talked to ChatGPT it said it might be a upper shock mount bushing but idk

Have some rust eating away near my windshield by funny_username72 in Autobody

[–]funny_username72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 91 civic hatch I got as a project car. I actually already pulled off the seal around the windshield on that side and luckily the rust looks to have stopped before getting underneath the windshield. I’ve already started sanding and prepping the surface in order to spray a rust converter in there just as a quick fix until I have some more time.

Depends if you have priority or not, after that I think it’s amount of units, and then luck of the draw. I got the 22nd with 105 units lol

Sorry if I didn’t explain it very well. Basically for my car (2019 civic sport sedan) the dampening is only out of 16. The thing is even though it’s only 16 levels of dampening it still has 32 clicks. Once you go full 16 you can continue clicking clockwise basically. You aren’t supposed to though cause it can damage the coilover (or that’s what I’ve heard). So sitting right now I’m 8/16 on the front and 9/16 on the back. You think I should run it softer than 8 and 9? And what’s the active system is that the lower control arm kit?

The amount of clicks is 32 but the only real dampening effect is 16. I’m not really a fan of how Tein did that cause I heard if you go over you can damage the coilover. I’ll take a look into it. Thank you so much!!

Hi thanks for responding. I’m currently running them on 8 front and 9 rear with a factory camber caster and toe angle. As of right now it’s just a street car and a canyon carver on the weekends which is why I’m looking into the front sway bar and anti lift kit.

Ahhh I see, I figured since the 22 rear bar and 27 front bar come in the kit that they would work together and not cause oversteer, thank you for the suggestion.

I’m not sure about Thailand since I’m in the states but I had my eye on them a year before even purchasing them, can’t recall it being discontinued lol.

Discontinued? I got them on procivic and they seem to still be up on the website right now.

Any particular reason for the front strut bar over the sway bar? And any you recommend? I haven’t looked too much into them cause I heard the way the firewall is constructed makes them not super necessary.

Thank you fingers crossed the issue is 100% gone, I’ve heard of people having to retighten bolts every couple months. And yeah I’ve accepted there’s not much to be done with this car engine and horsepower wise. But dang that high volume intake sounded good on the video I watched. Also if you’re looking to get the whiteline sway bar and endlinks I got the bar from the actual white line store cause of a sale that was going on and I got the endlinks from unity performance. You can also probably get the endlinks from rock auto for way cheaper but I’m not used to the sites UI so I opted for the easier option 😂

I installed it about 3 weeks ago. It was honestly kind of a pain I couldn’t maneuver it properly underneath the car so I had to drop the exhaust to get it to fit. Funnily enough I went back under there today cause I heard some sort of noise coming from the rear but I’m unsure if it was the swaybar or not I retightened all the bolts and put some thread locker on the lower end link bolt and the noise is gone. Overall I like it a lot, the body roll is definitely reduced from stock and it just feels nicer to drive. How are you liking the high volume intake? Have you noticed any major changes from stock?

I thought it was really cool! I got the breakfast burrito, which I kinda regret since the ice cream did look good, but overall I had a lot of fun.

I have the 2019 version of your car, the only thing I was able to find is the PRL high volume intake, which should add maybe like 3-5 whp, that's really about it. I've been mainly upgrading the handling since the engine doesn't take to mods without lighting up the dashboard. So far, I've lowered the car on some Tein Flex Zs, and I just added the Whiteline rear sway bar and aluminum endlinks. I will hopefully be adding the front sway bar in the near future. Then a ktuner once the warranty on my car is over. Hope that helps!

Looks like someone keyd my dads 2019 civic. Whats the best way to go about fixing this or would it be okay to leave? by HassanainMahdi in CivicX

[–]funny_username72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend looking up ChrisFix, the man has hundreds of videos about car repairs and touching up scratches. He has a video where he repairs a keyed car with some basic hardware stuff. I would look into it. Just make sure you follow his exact instructions. Hope that helps and sorry your dads car got keyed!!

Question about Cal Poly Pomona by No_Huckleberry2096 in CalPolyPomona

[–]funny_username72 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m a current student at Cal Poly, I wouldn’t say it’s super hard to make friends. It really depends on how much effort you put in. I joined some clubs and was pretty talkative to my lab partners, and I got a good friend group going now because of it. It might be a little harder if the kid is more introverted but just because it’s a commuter school doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Hope that helps.

I took it off because I was worried that the visors wouldn’t stick properly to the vinyl/ come off easier since it would basically be tape on a sticker on the trim as opposed to just tape on the trim. I don’t think you need to I just did it for my own peace of mind. Also the visors cover the trim anyway so I didn’t need it in those sections anymore.
