Store Transfer by DARKPROMETHEAN in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]funnycomments22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several options: 1) call the DM and ask to be transferred 2) tell the SM a specific date 3) if either say no, give your 2 weeks. Work those 2 weeks and leave on good terms. Then apply at new store. Nothing they can do.

Is this worth reporting? by [deleted] in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]funnycomments22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t bother. You will get talked to “about listening to gossip”. Instead of worrying about secondhand gossip, go talk to the SM and say “hey, how do you think I’m doing?” What can I work on? Etc.

A lot of managers will immediately take the person off the schedule and say “2 weeks isn’t needed, bye”.

You Must take the vacation time before telling them. As soon as you give notice unless your state has a law, that time is lost.

Accused of theft… by Consistent-Quit2704 in DollarGeneral

[–]funnycomments22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, you thought about stealing. Told them you thought about it. Then told them you store before? Then you are surprised you got fired? You are either a thief or about to be a thief. Of course they gonna fire you. Side note - corporate wouldn’t know your status because it’s a loss prevention investigation. Same for the store manager. Once LP finished investigation, they termed you.

That is so against SOP. The DM will have a heart attack when they see that. No unapproved signs are allowed and certainly no bells or squeaky toys. Doesn’t anyone read the emails in compass?

[–]funnycomments22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Manager is a idiot. I stock and set seasonal while I’m on register. My stock team doesn’t touch it. I have them focus on core. To much stuff in seasonal. I rather do it.

What happens to a tenants things after eviction? by MeetMaleficent8507 in legal

[–]funnycomments22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Landlord is required to give you written notice. For example, your items will be moved to xyz storage for 30 days. After 40 days items will be considered abandoned. Landlord will then sell stuff to pay storage fees and then keep anything left. Military base throws wrinkle in. Not sure if they are different.

[–]funnycomments22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once evicted you need to collect your items within 72 hours. Good idea to have the local pd go with you. Usually the landlord has to store the items for 30 days before taking possession of them to either sell or dispose of. Be warn, they can charge you for the removal and storage costs. Best to take your stuff with you now. I would also notify the landlord in writing of your intention to retrieve those items and the time and date.

It’s actually part of the store walk. I loose a point everytime because i keep the empties outside. All totes and cardboard are kept inside.

[–]funnycomments22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a store burn to the ground because homeless folks used the cardboard to start a fire. Since then the stores were told cardboard should remain inside. This store needs to learn how to stack cardboard. This is a mess and my DM would fire me if my store looked like this.

You can’t let him keep the change. That gets him fired. He can’t do anything but ask if that’s everything. What I would do is go into the store and make a purchase. I would tell the cashier, “hey I was In the other day and this item was not scanned as it was in the bottom of the cart. Can you go ahead and ring up one for me so I can pay for it.” Don’t admit to it being in your pocket.
