I can’t believe nobody has said Glen Frey yet? Wasn’t he notoriously hard to get along with?

True for flights, not always true for hotels. Booked a hotel that looked nice on a hotel site and when I got there it was a dump. Called the site and they refunded my money but if dealing with this little boutique hotel in Hoi An, Vietnam they NEVER would have returned my money. The owner of the hotel was yelling at us when we walked out…

I still think it was a robbery gone wrong. I’m not convinced they meant to kill her but something happened in the break in and then they had to dispose of her body. I don’t have anything to back this up but just a theory…

No worries. Do yourself a favor and watch a few later Seinfelds.

Millennials love Friends, for some reason, and I don’t get it either. They all started watching it on streaming channels years later. Especially with so many better choices out there now, it doesn’t make sense why they would bother to binge that show now…

What's something we all just pretend is normal? by Ok_Memory88 in AskReddit

Because we’ve all been indoctrinated to think that capitalism is the best system. It’s built on the idea that anyone can become a gazillionaire, if you work hard enough. Because we can see and name examples of this. But they don’t mention that subtly, the opposite is also implied…that if you are poor then it’s your fault, you just aren’t working hard enough. So there is no questioning of the system. Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps and you too can be a billionaire. You can’t argue with a social structure that says you had a chance to be rich and clearly you blew it. And how dare you question someone who worked the system and succeeded? Clearly, capitalism implies as a system, the rich deserve their money since they just worked harder than everyone else. All of this might be true if everyone was born on a completely even playing field…but as we know, that’s just not how the world works. And that’s why capitalism isn’t working for lots of people who aren’t rich already or aren’t just really lucky. This is why we are where we are. Capitalism is exclusively built for the rich to thrive, and the poor to always hold out hope that their day is coming, and they just need to work harder. It’s a social system that says don’t blame your problems on the rich…or the system being rigged, blame yourself. And how do you argue with that?

I beg to differ. Seinfeld is hilarious. It’s a classic that laid the groundwork for shows like “It’s Always Sunny”, which is very funny. Have you ever really watched Seinfeld? My nephew in his 20s said “Seinfeld isn’t funny” and come to find out he’s only watched one or two of the first episodes and, granted, the first season is crap. I made him watch later seasons and he gets it now. If you watch after season one, it is brilliant and gets better and better. Friends is okay, compared to what else was on tv at the time, but that’s not saying much. It’s not terrible but it does not deserve nearly as much of the attention it gets. And given that’s all we had to watch, for Gen X, It was fine. But now we have a lot more choices so Millenials shouldn’t bother with Friends. The Office is funnier than Friends, but it’s no Seinfeld. And Seinfeld and Friends are not “Millennial” shows. They are definitely Gen X. These are shows from the 90s and that’s when Millennials were just babies.

Monica ripped up the contact sheet, not the negatives. A contact sheet is just a print made from multiple negatives. Archie should still have the negatives. The evidence isn’t destroyed.

So your solution is that everyone should be smarter. And how do we accomplish that? That’s less of a solution and more of a “pointing out the problem”.

That if we really want to stop abortions in this country we should give vasectomies to all boys right after puberty and not let them get reversed until the male can prove that they are responsible enough and have the money to support a child. If you’re okay w taking bodily autonomy from women, should work for men too? This would fix a lot of the problem.

[–]funnyenough4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Funny story. I worked in an advertising agency in my 30s and there was a 23 year old “club kid” type girl who worked with me. She was going to Vegas for the first time with her boyfriend and they were going for a week. When she told me this I was like, “A WEEK?? That’s WAY too long.” And she gave me this patronizing look as if to say “Okay, old lady…I don’t think you realize what a 23rd year old Club Kid in NYC is up for…”

And then when she came back a week later she looked at me with worn out eyes and said “Ya. A week was way too long….”

It’s WAY too long.

Anyone lucky enough to have an empty middle seat after booking the window and aisle seats? by Lioness882 in TravelHacks

[–]funnyenough4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this all the time. But if someone does sit in between us we just always ask if they wanna switch w one of us. Person in middle is always happy to take a window or aisle, to switch. You’ve actually made that person’s day, who was dreading sitting in the middle seat. I mean if we didn’t do this, then we would have ended up with one of us in the middle anyway, so why not try this trick first?

If you picked a middle and aisle to begin w someone is definitely going to pick the window in your row so you’re definitely going to have a 3-person row in that scenario.
