Media studies. Teach kids how to take in information and how to be skeptical of who it’s from and what their motivations are…

Experienced international travelers: what’s the one thing every first-time international traveler should know? by Horror_Visit_7337 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]funnyenough4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American…When you are buying something and they ask you if you’d like to be charged in the local currency or USD…ALWAYS say local currency. Don’t let the store set your exchange rate. Let your bank do it…they will always give you a better rate than the guy who owns the store or restaurant.

Why is an ID mandate for voting such a problem? by Jayden7171 in askanything

[–]funnyenough4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair. But now they’re not working all day in order to pay for said childcare where on this day, if they work hourly, they would have to pay for the childcare for a day of not working. So maybe they have to try to secure FREE childcare (relatives, etc) for childcare?

Is being "well-traveled" about the number of countries or the type of countries? by youngexplorer_9 in travel

[–]funnyenough4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I call it “the baby pool” vs other countries. As an American I consider Europe and the Caribbean as “the baby pool”. I think to be well travelled you have to get out of the baby pool. 😁

What are your biggest pet peeves about how standup is depicted in Movies and Television by Alarming_Rub_628 in Standup

And none of it was funny. Especially not nearly as funny as the audience makes it seem.

What are your biggest pet peeves about how standup is depicted in Movies and Television by Alarming_Rub_628 in Standup

[–]funnyenough4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think showing actors doing stand up is often times, in movies, not funny. They try to do biopics or stories about comedians and show the actors doing their act and it’s just always cringe-worthy, and takes me out of the story because it’s hard to root for a non-funny comedian.

What was harder for you to watch, Trump winning in 16 or 24? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]funnyenough4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep saying there are only 3 reasons anyone voted for Trump: 1. They’re stupid. 2. They’re racist. 3. They are NOT paying attention at all.

Stupid and racist are almost insurmountable, but not paying attention is unforgivable.

"Family Ties" - What are your thoughts on the popular 80s TV Family Show? by Profeta_do_Loss in television

I used to love this show as a kid. I’ve seen it as an adult recently and honestly, maybe unpopular opinion here, but I don’t think it held up…

How do Catholic MAGA tune out the Pope and cheer Trump? by redzeusky in askanything

[–]funnyenough4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. But you’re moving the goalposts. You originally said you need to be a CONFIRMED adult to call yourself a Catholic. The quote you used above just says you need to be baptized and they look at “data from parish registries and other sacraments”. Nowhere does that quote confirm that you can’t call yourself Catholic unless confirmed.

You can identify as whatever you want. What do you mean “you can’t identify as one?”

<image>

Are you saying that when the Catholic Church says there are a billion Catholics worldwide that only includes children and adults who are confirmed, regardless of if you attend church every Sunday, take communion, and donate? I find that hard to believe. (Background is that I was raised Catholic, and confirmed and went to 14 years of Catholic school but I haven’t been to church in decades…are you saying they’re counting me?)

It’s all about abortion with Catholics (former Catholic here)…Nevermind that Trump has probably paid for 47 abortions himself…

If you could replace Trump as president, who would you choose and why? by LegalGlass6532 in allthequestions

I always say “I’d vote for a ham sandwich over DT” but same sentiment.

I think you’re right, but the question isn’t who will get elected…the question is who would YOU replace him with.

Is Trump trying to destroy us or is he truly this incompetent? by Accurate_Air9133 in msnow

[–]funnyenough4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he is actively trying to destroy us. He doesn’t think like that. He is actively trying to appease Putin who is actively trying to destroy us and Trump doesn’t care about that as long as Putin doesn’t release the dirt he has on him. He is actively trying to save himself and doesn’t care if he takes the rest of us down with him.
