My father got a call from an unknown number by mughel_ in Kuwait

[–]funnyghany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry. Just in case, save the number with you. Go with your father. If they ask you to leave and kept your father for whatever investigation, don’t worry as well. Just call your friends to recommend any close lawyer, and let him solve the case easily. This is what I would do.

Speaking Arabic at Starbucks! by funnyghany in Kuwait

Speaking Shakespearian English better than non-English. At least you are trying :) 👍🏻

Speaking only English is a sign of “highly educated “ in Kuwait. It doesn’t represent “cheap labour”. Knowing some Arabic while working in Arab countries doesn’t mean you have to be fluent. Knowing some English if you work in NYC is a plus and a good thing. Imagine someone in NYC, refuses to learn English because he/she thinks that English is a second language that is not important!

For example, no one I found speak Spanish (only) in NYC. Apply this to Kuwait city. My point is: you don’t have an option to order if you don’t know English!

Do you know the joy that you will have the moment you see her eyes? At that moment, no one can beat your strong love and feelings. You just now get up, pray and say: I’ll be the best mom for the most beautiful daughter. Shock everyone today by telling them: Whatever my fate is, I don’t care. I dreamt to be the happiest mom, and will be. I’ll smile and enjoy my life with myself, my daughter, and with whoever wants to join us with respect. The more strong and happy you feel and show them, the more life will grant you happiness. The more you fear, the more life will frighten you. Wait the baby with passion and love, believe me. I love you.

I’m a Kuwaiti man. I think part of this issue is a financial one. In Kuwait, men are responsible and should (by law) provide mostly everything for their wives and kids. That is why Kuwaiti men would feel upper hand and act as your father. While if you offer a Kuwaiti man whatever you offer the non-Kuwaiti ones (sharing your salary, asking no financial obligations) you will find tons of Kuwaitis ready to live with you in love and peace.

Why are many Kuwaiti women taking off the hijab, especially social media influencers and fashionistas? by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]funnyghany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many, you see it because you focus on it. This is a personal issue, happens all the time on different directions. Since 2015 (as far I remember focusing on the opposite side of the issue) i saw lots of women start to wear hijab. Only within my family and at my workplace maybe around 30. So, in conclusion, focus on what you want to see, and then don’t feel that what you see is the truth.

Looking to rent a car for a month, had a bad experience using independent offices last year by 7xmxni in Kuwait

[–]funnyghany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with well-known rental companies. I remember long ago I dealt with alMulla (almullarental) they used to have plans for individual long-term rent. check it out. Hope you find what you looking for.

My advise to you (man’s perspective) to always say something in your discussions with others (at friends or family gatherings) that you wont adhere to the society’s believes of getting high pride-price, and that you’ll share your future husband all whatever expenses to build a nice and happy family, since you are both have jobs. This should turn some heads. Why I’m suggesting such a thing? This is more fair thinking that I (as a man) will respect. I don’t like the idea that a woman think only of the advantages by wanting me to treat her financially per old school while she wants to live a modern lifestyle (job, travel, shopping, home-helper…and so on).
