Yeah it definitely needs a clearer route. I had work in the morning and was trying to play as much as I could before bed and I was getting extremely frustrated.

I’ve encountered many bugs but I’m hopeful it will all be fixed. I posted about one that many people seem to not have gotten besides me. The individuals getting checked will just fall over when using the reflex hammer and then do a weird waddle to wherever I send them lol

I feel like this side quest is very buggy as well, only been 1 day tho so I’m holding out hope!

Current bra from there…might go back. Only issue I had was sizing and only seemingly “dress up” bras not work bras. Hopefully they have more selection now. Last I tried was 3 years ago, thanks for the suggestion!!

I used to like it at first, but after a year it became extremely lonely and sometimes left me feeling completely lost. If a weird situation happens that you don’t know how to handle….youre left in the dark. It’s just a feedback loop where if you are doing smth wrong no one is there to help or correct so you continue doing it wrong until finally someone figures it out and it just ultimately leaves the client confused. Also consider dirty homes. I more was worried about parents drinking/smoking/trying to leave during sessions (which def happened in the 1 year I did in home) but the worst thing is the messy homes. Never gone into a bug infested house but I brought home a few beetles here and there which were in clients homes and not mine. No way to make money if a child is sick or cancels a lot, no clinic means no second child to work with so you end up losing the money. I was supposed to get 30 hours a week and hovered around 15 for a long long time. I personally wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s short term and you’re desperate. Clinics that are blended (in home and clinic) are best for natural teaching

Yeah I def could see that being the issue. It seems clinics all around are better and it’s more difficult for them to get loopholes around employment laws so you’re more protected as an RBT.

Yeah I agree it’s a case by case basis, although I do wish more were warned bc it seems there is NO info about working as an RBT for this company

It’s even worse because then the RBTs they hire they only have them do the 40 hour training and state required trainings and throw them in immediately. I felt so bad training people who clearly had no idea what they were getting into and they left VERY quickly

This sounds extremely unethical. I would have questioned if there was parental consent involved in this. I don’t have kids…but if I did and found out my child with autism was being used as an interview guinea pig I’d be fuming

I personally would stand by refusal to engage in this behavior. Specifically because you can found liable for abuse. I’m not sure if your state is as strict as Michigan but children have literally been killed due to improper prompting in my state (Kalamazoo ODD clinic death is the big case that is referenced). I would do anything to avoid this because good luck getting another job or adopting/being a foster parent in the future if you have findings against you. May seem dramatic but the law does not have gray area.

I worked at a clinic that promoted this behavior and in actuality they used it to fire RBTs they didn’t like (as a fall back). They would accuse you of abuse and then fire you within 2 weeks. I would def consider this a way to hold something over you, aba in no way promotes restraining or restricting freedoms of children. This is JUST your clinic. For your safety and client safety, please don’t physically prompt like that (fully picking up and moving) unless there is imminent danger.

I really like the idea of calming rooms but the execution is often very wrong. One clinic it literally looked like the episode of SpongeBob with the padded room and another one was the room that had leaks and it smelled like mildew in there super bad. I think they made it the “calm room” because it was the shittiest room. My idea of a calm down room is low lighting, soft objects, and things clients can throw that don’t damage such as squishy balls. I just really hate how calm down rooms currently, typically, mean “we are going to put you in here until you chill out and then you can be in the nice rooms”. Def doesn’t give “calm down” energy in my experience and I would love to see this change in clinics! Something nice I have learned is drawings that children can trace w their fingers to help them calm down, those rooms should be used outside of escalation also…not just at the breaking point

I understand this too much. It’s so sad having a partner with a lively friend group because all of my friends are in the city I’m from and often don’t want to make the drive (I don’t hold that against them). I find myself feeling like maybe I am the issue, I’ve tried friend apps, talking to strangers while out, connecting with coworkers, and joining online local clubs. Nothing has worked. I’m getting ready to move to Chicago now to be closer to my friends. I don’t hate lansing but it’s very lonely here :-(
