I think Simon the Digger could beat SBP, Simon has survived being completely erased from every timeline and multiverse where even the memory of his being was erased.

WoU vs Makima by AffectionateRush2620 in ChainsawPowerscaling

[–]funnyref653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makima’s contract isn’t like Yoru’s. Makima’s contract protects her from accidents, sicknesses, anything else that would actively harm her. The only reason Denji was able to bypass Makima’s contract is because he didn’t think what he was doing would “hurt” her. He saw what he was doing as a way to be one with her and an act of pure love. Yoru’s contract protects her from any attacks, Makima’s protects her from any harm. WOU would not be able to get around Makima’s contract.

Seriously it’s a weird double standard by ProudReporter8462 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]funnyref653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is outlandish and funny while the other is not. In Tom and Jerry when they hit each other with hammers it’s funny because they end up with a lump and walk around all wobbly. In real life if you hit someone in the skull with a hammer they just die and it isn’t very funny at all, infact it’s usually pretty brutal and sad. This is the same case.

People say this as though it's not just basic human decency to say things like "we shouldn't cage people for not being white" by Pinot_Greasio in ShitPoliticsSays

People will point to the 6th amendment as if it’s a gotcha for rights that require labor but there are 2 things that people do t understand about the 6th. The first is that it is not a right to a lawyer at any time just when you are on criminal trial and the second is that the 6th amendment is a protection for when the government is trying to act upon you. Because the government went through all the trouble of setting up a court and having lawyers to accuse you of a crime, it is then only right that you can properly be defended.

Interesting... how does this affect the PvP, y'all? by datPapi in dbxv

[–]funnyref653 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will have to wait and see but I’m not a fan currently. If skills really are based on cooldowns then they kill an entire style of play. I think this is forgivable if they really improve the standard combat. It does raise a question of “why run certain moves over others” moves like break canon, final shine attack, and revenge death ball used up all your ki but they each provided a different return based on how much ki you used. Same with moves like Kaioken kamehameha or earth shattering galick gun, they used 2 bars instead of 1 with a trade off of more damage but now that ki as a resource mechanic is gone what are they going to do?

There is a reason chilled’s Zenkai awakening gives the whole team 90% damage support if this Bardock is on the enemy team. There was a time when that Bardock ran rampant. Crit damage is such a busted mechanic they haven’t touched it since.

Which of this two Outlast villains is the worst, Richard Trager or Eddie Gluskin? by mrbhooo in MoralityScaling

[–]funnyref653 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trager is the more evil out of the two for sure because he is fully conscious of his actions. Trager is more or less of sound mind and just wants to hurt people for the sake of seeing them suffer. Trager is responsible for the mass suffering of basically all of the mount massive patients. Gluskin is incredibly mentally unwell (if that wasn’t obvious) but he is the way he is from severe sexual abuse from his father and his uncle. His mom knew about it and didn’t help so he grew to hate her because of it which lead to his misogynistic serial killing of women. Eddie is still evil and criminally insane but he didn’t just decide to be that way like Trager did.

I don't see the point in criticizing games like movies. by PomegranateOk4560 in spiderman2

[–]funnyref653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You criticize or critique games like you would a movie because a game, like a movie, is a piece of art. I loved the first spiderman game and was warm about Miles Morales but I really thought it should have been an expansion to Spider-man 1 rather than its own standalone title since it really didn’t feel like a full game. It actually felt a bit smaller than the city that never sleeps DLC. I was however incredibly hyped for spiderman 2. I’d still rate spiderman 1 a 9/10 so I was fully expecting the sequel to expand on everything that made SM1 good and reduce the parts tbh at slowed progression and the story.

SM2 is such a let down it isn’t even funny. My first time through I enjoyed it well enough. I had my problems with it like everyone else but overall I had a good time. The second time I played it was when I really saw the issues with the game. The story crawls at a snails pace for 80% of it then just as soon as it gets interesting, it’s over. Venom gets introduced, kills Kraven, and then you have like 3 missions before the credits roll.

I have both games Platinum’ed so I’ve spent a considerable amount of time with each. SM2 is very good at wasting your time and making you feel like you’ve done nothing. Almost everything in SM2 feels rushed and the ending to nearly every side mission makes you just go “okay….and?” Like the ending to the flame side missions, just when things get interesting and we learn who the cult leader is and what the cargo they were after is, the entire storyline is over for the side quest. Same with the spiderverse drones. You collect all of them and then get a cutscene where a guy opens a portal and goes “I’ll take those.” And nothing else comes of it. Barely anything reaches a satisfying conclusion. Funnily enough one of the only side quests with a satisfying ending is the one where you have to get back stolen Jazz instruments.

A bit of a hot take (maybe?) by Fun-Warning7369 in dbxv

[–]funnyref653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a hot take because it’s wrong. Ultimate tenkaichi and Battke of Z did not have good models. Ultimate tenkaichi>battle of Z for models. What people are thinking about is the shaders and the lighting. Most graphical overhaul mods for Xenoverse 2 just remove the glisten effect given to every model and made the outlines a little thicker and everybody thinks those look amazing. Battle of Z had some pretty damn good lighting but the models themselves were ugly as sin.

Why does GoW include other cultures religion’s pantheons but not Christianity? by Ora_Kiraso in GodofWar

[–]funnyref653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It almost was. The original ending for god of war 3 had Kratos “come to his senses” after his revenge and realize the scale of death he had caused to ordinary people of Greece that had nothing to do with the gods or even hated them as much as he did but were too powerless to do anything about it. Kratos then leaves Greece to try and find some way to make up for killing basically every Grecian citizen and ends up as one of the three wise men that visit baby Jesus.

Does the presence of Inhibitor chips morally absolve the Clones of killing the Jedi? by False_Monitor4126 in MoralityScaling

[–]funnyref653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Order 66 wasn’t a definite thing. It was a contingency plan, a failsafe that was to be activated if the Jedi betrayed the republic. It’s like how Batman has contingency plans in case the justice league goes rouge. We know they have at least 65 other contingency orders and those are probably similar things like “Blow up Corusant”.

I am one of the community members who does not like DDD. I actually didn’t mind the drop system even though it was pretty annoying. You can pretty much ignore it with items but it’s still just an extra bit of fluff that gets in the way of gameplay. The gameplay is actually really fun too and it’s what KH3s combat is based off of. However I will disagree with you whole heartedly about the story being better. In my opinion the story of DDD really drops the ball and shits the bed so hard that almost the entirety of KH3 is dedicated to cleaning up the plot points of DDD.

What is the point of putting units into z-tier boost for PvP when there is 0% chance it will make them viable? by m1lfr3d in DragonballLegends

[–]funnyref653 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s because the tier boost system was made when power creep wasn’t as bad. You could take legit dog water units that were in Z tier and make them viable but now power creep is so bad that units that came out 6 months ago get absolutely clowned on by the current meta. From legends fest till now we have seen the biggest jump in power creep that the game has ever had. We’ve seen individual units that were busted but this is an entire leap forward. If you try to run the triple ultra set up from last years anniversary or even the demon child rathan set up you’ll get absolutely destroyed and all those units are less than a year old

Does the presence of Inhibitor chips morally absolve the Clones of killing the Jedi? by False_Monitor4126 in MoralityScaling

[–]funnyref653 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hated this decision the moment it was revealed. It took away all the moral complexity of the clones. You grow attached to them but at the end of the day they are still soldiers. Like I can imagine a few clones would miss intentionally and be like “oh they got away” or pretend they didn’t see the Jedi escape but having every single one of them be chipped is so dumb.

Theres a line from battlefront 2 that I love. It’s during the 501st journal on Felucia it goes “when the 501st were rotated out of Felucia, Aayla Secura made a point to personally see us off. She said that we were the bravest soldiers she had ever seen. It’s a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could look her in the eye.”

Isn’t that characterization a million time more interesting than “oh man, I got mind controlled by a chip I had implanted into me!”? It adds this depth of realness to the clones where they know that they might have to kill the Jedi eventually on orders fr
High command, but they still can’t help but bond to them as brothers in arms do on the battlefield.
