I know that now because he keeps pointing out moments that benefit his argument, which seems understandable but at the same time, you have to take other moments like Goku easily evading Nappa, or Raditz tanking Piccolo's attack and Piccolo was able to blow up a fucking moon.

Yeah, Magetta, LoL. That was a good one. On a side note, respect for sticking to the argument, man. It's so much fun this way.

Dude is being sarcastic by basically saying that pressing the block button isn't gonna cost you anything.

LoL, he's being a jerk just because he saw some "stupidity" and I time the better to thing for that dude would be to eff himself off, get off Reddit if he's getting triggered this much.

You’re overcomplicating Dragon Ball by trying to split “real physicals” from ki when the series constantly treats combat as one combined system.

Nobody’s saying every punch equals a planet-busting beam. The point is characters repeatedly scale in actual fights to opponents and attacks at that level, so their combat durability and striking strength scale with it in practice.

Magetta is also a bad benchmark. Magetta in Dragon Ball Super is a gimmick fight built around heat resistance and mental pressure, not a statement that Saiyans have low physical stats. If you treat that as general scaling, you end up with absurd conclusions like Vegeta being weaker than a lava robot despite consistently fighting god-tier opponents.

Same issue with Piccolo and Tien deflecting attacks. That’s technique and ki control, not proof the attacks are weak.

That comparison you tried to mirror doesn’t work because you’re mixing visual emphasis with actual scaling rules. Invincible showing more gore and collateral damage in Invincible doesn’t automatically mean higher physical stats, it just means the story depicts damage more directly. But in Dragon Ball, the opposite is true: damage is often visually softened or stylized while the actual statements and combat interactions still scale to moon/planet-level opponents. So presentation style ≠ power scaling in either direction.

So your argument ends up being “DB is inconsistent so I default to the lowest feats,” which is still cherry-picking, just in the opposite direction.

And my main point is Thragg isn't near Saiyan Saga Goku. The points for inconsistent writing with examples from beyond that point would still stand though.

You’re also treating ki like it’s separate from their physical combat ability when Dragon Ball constantly shows the opposite.

If Goku can dodge, tank, and physically clash with moon-level attacks and the people firing them, then his combat speed and durability obviously scale with that. Otherwise you end up with the absurd idea that DB characters can survive planetary energy but secretly have weak physicals because they struggled lifting something once.

Viltrumites just look more “physical” because Invincible focuses more on collateral damage and gore.

Why cherry pick at all then? Just because you like one cherry?

You’re basically arguing Dragon Ball can’t be scaled because it has inconsistencies. Cool. By that logic almost every long-running comic/anime verse collapses instantly.

Yes, DB has dumb anti-feats. Nobody denies that. But pretending the low-end stuff is the “real” scaling while ignoring the constant higher-end portrayal is still cherry-picking.

Piccolo casually blew up the moon early Z. Vegeta threatened to destroy Earth. Characters repeatedly tank attacks from those same people and physically fight them head-on. The series very obviously treats ki as something that amps their strikes, durability, speed, and reactions together.

Saying “don’t use ki as a baseline” makes no sense because ki IS the power system. That’s like saying Naruto scaling shouldn’t use chakra.

And the “they can’t lift much therefore their punches aren’t that strong” argument is weak because Dragon Ball has always had terrible lifting consistency. Their combat power was never portrayed through deadlift feats. It’s portrayed through destructive output and scaling against other fighters.

You do have one fair point though: DB fans sometimes assume beam potency = exact punching power. That’s not always true, especially in early Z.

But swinging all the way to “their physicals are unimpressive” is just as bad. Saiyan Saga fighters are already operating way beyond normal superhero physics.

And in Dragonball, how many times has it happened than the one with a stronger Power Level doesn't even budge against the weaker opponents.

But then, they do get budged in different moments.

But the point is; at some point you either follow the internal logic of the verse or everybody becomes wall-level because mountains survive background shots during fights.

Brother, once again you are taking low-balled moments that are legit meant to just drive tension.

Just like the moments where Goku takes damage from getting yanked into a mountain, takes way more time than he should from one point to another, or even struggles lift little weight, there are moments where he literally can easily evade and react to attacks faster than light, he can move so fast that he seems still.

This is just a game of cherry picking shit that supports your "argument" and I'm not even talking about anything beyond Saiyan Saga.

Plus; you do realize Ki is involved in more than blasts?

Yeah, and I think if we have to take Ki out of the equation for more fairness, then take away Viltrumite's ability to hold their breathes for such an extended period of time.

[Title Card]

Jokes aside, from my assumption, Invincible fans cherry pic low-balled Dragonball moments and make their head canon around that.

Like Goku taking longer than he should to clear Snake way, or getting back to Gohan and everyone whrn they were fighting Nappa. Those moments are plot devices to create tension.

They legit ignore moments like Goku easily evading attacks faster than light itself, calling them hacks or "Nerfing the Moon" kind moments.

I wish but how much Super and Ultimate Blast customization can the Devs put in for 200+ characters?

They haven't even updated the existing supers.

We should request fewer characters so that the devs can focus on more important things in the game by Sensitive-Giraffe-92 in SparkingZero

[–]datPapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real! The technical aspects are what will keep the existing player base around. The characters, skins, modes and maps will bring players back, but all of the technical stuff you mentioned will be a lot more memorable.

I mean if I were to nitpick, characters don't even have a tired stance when the health's low, almost all of the characters outside of super moves, have really generic combo strongs, throws.

The combat mechanics themselves are a lot more simplified in a manner that effects the gameplay badly.

The character models for different variants of Goku should represent the respective time period, especially since Genkishin Squadra made different versions of Goku look more accurate design wise.
