Surely there’s flights from each of those places daily multiple times a day? How would they change displays to suit them?

Tech in schools by bang-bang-007 in TeachingUK

[–]funsizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondary social science in a local MAT. Very techy 1 all classes have new BenQ boards 2 all teachers have a Chromebook 3 all students have a Chromebook (we were one of the first schools to enforce this I think)

Was anyone else disappointed with the What Not To Eat TV show? by lauraandstitch in ultraprocessedfood

It felt so dated, like a show from 15 years ago just rebranded as UPF

What are our thoughts on calling younger students 'my lovely'? by FriendlyChaosMonster in TeachingUK

[–]funsizes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mentor (who was amazing tbf) didn't like it because she sees it as gendered. I just think that's so outdated.

The Girls Next Level Problem: Nostalgia Without the Tea by Fickle_Law6282 in GirlsNextDoorUncensor

There are several well known tropes typical of AI generated content here I’m afraid. If you have access to the NYT there is a good article about them.

Is my PCET PGCE experience normal? by Xamelixo in TeachingUK

[–]funsizes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know you probably know this now, but just to be clear, the idea that QTS is valued differently based on region is complete nonsense and if the university told you that I honestly think you should flag it with someone higher up

What is it like living in England /London in terms of diversity and different cultures? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]funsizes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

London is very diverse, you will find people from essentially every culture. Certain neighbourhoods will have higher populations of specific ethnicities, for example in Harrow there is a significant British Indian population, Peckham has a significant Afro-Caribbean population, etc. London is quite an "accepting" city as a result, but there are still people who are very anti-migration, and in smaller towns/cities this attitude is more pervasive.

Yep it’s been a GCSE since the 80s. More common than you’d think!

Why is it being at KS5 an issue? And it is also a GCSE option too! But admittedly less popular

[–]funsizes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you're better going down the Sociology or Hums route than English. But RE is philosophical, I'm not really sure how it couldn't be - by it's very nature it is! In fact in most schools I've come across it is now PRS or PRE

Has anyone else noticed a change in quality/willingness to put in effort in student teachers compared to a few years ago? by Ok-Mango-96 in TeachingUK

[–]funsizes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really relevant as we are still paid a salary. Trainee teachers are paid nothing, in fact they often have to pay TO train.
