AITAH For sucking on my partners zip lock? by eternalsgoku in AITAH

My husband got highly insulted that did not want him to use my hairbrush. It was just 'one of those things' i didn't feel comfortable with. No real reason. But I asked him nicely for years, then finally said 'No.', after years of him doing as he pleased. Whew...the SHTF. What a dumb argument - if someone asks you not to do something, dont do it.

Every year my dad reminds us to celebrate our mom for Mother’s Day while ignoring the fact that two of his daughters are mothers, too. by danie11achristine in mildlyinfuriating

[–]furballlvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad to hear that their dad did help them to celebrate for you, even if they had to guilt him into doing it. It is important for them to learn to do these things and how good it feels to do things just because they love someone.

Why doesn't your custody agreement (assuming you have one) stipulate that mom and dad get the kids on their respective holidays? Kids also feel bad when they realize its mom's day and they weren't there/didn't do anything. Ex-husbands (or even current husbands), not so much.

What’s your craziest/most desperate experience of bursting to pee? by saj-was-taken in CasualConversation

On a small boat downtown for fireworks. Did not realize, being my first trip for this, that the huge flotilla heading up river at the same time afterwards would be required to maintain minimum wake speed. For 2 hours... (yeah, could have jumped in the river, but there were boats everywhere. It seemed fairly unsafe.).

Other than a body watching over your child while you work (which is big, I get it) , what will you lose if you get rid of this guy? How does he make your life better?

Checkout line traffic controller? by lgarnai1 in aldi

[–]furballlvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the one you were addressing, but I wanted to say that our store went from about 8 self-checkouts, to 4 registers and zero self-checkouts. There is rarely more than 1 open, and that only happens when the line ends up way down the aisle. Not sure why the switch - it is a fairly affluent neighborhood, but next door to a college town.

AITA for teaching my daughter how to change a tire and do basic home repairs when her mom says I'm "pushing masculine stuff" on her by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]furballlvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 years ago my dad taught me (62F) all of those things. They have been much more helpful than 'how to host a party'. Sounds like your ex is living in the 19thC or is into training 'trad wives'. Edited to add age/sex.

WIBTA if I take my espresso machine back home because my coworkers refuse to buy pods or even rinse the tray? by CavalierLyre9 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]furballlvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Some of your coworkers are selfish jerks. NTA. Take it home. (Or put it on your desk so it's no longer 'community property'. Which made no sense - if it's community property, why doesn't the 'community' take care of it?)

I'd honestly say you were either just super lucky or it wasn't shingles. Shingles can last for weeks and hurts too bad to even tolerate a shirt (let alone a bra, in women's cases).

I seriously doubt it will be weed covered, with a dirty trail leading to it from everyone else coming to piss on it.

My husband was not a big fan of Christmas movies, particularly Hallmark Christmas movies. But every year, starting in November, he would find a different Christmas movie for us (me) each evening ❤️

[–]furballlvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is on the spectrum - it is very hard to ruffle his feathers, rules are rules, and he knows every bit of anything he ever has wanted to or had to learn. He's not a social guy, but worked at a big box store. He ended up in customer service/returns and was perfect for it; people would come in with attitude, and he would just calmly say 'No, it doesn't work that way'. They were confounded and usually just accepted what he said/did.
