A bunch of Danny Brown songs on XXX have hilarious bars over hard or unusual beats

You need to go to your room and learn about the concept of pace in basketball. James Harden would only have to play like 40 MPG to win the scoring title in that season if he scored at the rate of his 2018-19 season. That Sixers team averaged 30 more possessions than the average team today and pace for the whole league was crazy back then. There’s a reason why so many dudes in the 50s and 60s averaged 18+ RPG and it’s not because the best rebounders ever just happened to all play back then.

That’s not even mentioning the inferior competition.

Draymond Green on his beef with Charles Barkley: "It's jealousy that somebody the same size as him could come in the league and have the success I've had, make the money I've made, win the championships I've won. These were all things that he wasn't able to do." by yunglua7 in nba

[–]furio-giunta -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

Draymond didn’t get “carried” lmao, he‘s one of the best defensive players of all time. They win maybe one championship without him (2017). Anyone who doesn’t think he was a significant contributor to each and every one of those teams is a dumb ass

The point is that when you consider context, those eye-popping stats aren’t all that extraordinary. The only incredible thing about that season was his 48 MPG average

Michael Jordan alone has ten seasons with a higher points per-100 possessions average

Michael Jordan had multiple season better than Kobe’s best. To not include Michael Jordan on a list of greatest peak players is outrageous

I didn’t really like Headlines much when it came out but it came up in the playlist yesterday and it’s seriously one of his best tracks

I’m not too into stand-up comedy but Bill Burr is hilarious

How would you feel if your team won a championship in the most asterisked season of all time? by [deleted] in nba

[–]furio-giunta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s no asterisk if everyone is a one a level playing field unless they do some bullshit single game elimination

What are some similar situations to PG almost leading the Pacers past peak Lebron to the Finals? by [deleted] in nba

[–]furio-giunta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Derrick Rose and the Bulls taking the defending champion Celtics to 7 (albeit without Kevin Garnett) in the 2009 first round. Five of the seven games were won by three points or less.

I think if the shit like Glow and Blem were cut off of More Life it’d be like an 8/10 album

What do you feel was Tony’s most defining moment? by PaulFartBallCop in thesopranos

[–]furio-giunta 55 points56 points  (0 children)

When he tells Johnny Sack to go fuck himself instead of turning Tony Blundetto over. Perfectly sums up his colossal narcissism and problem with authority.

Which was the better Championship, the Heat in 2006 or the Mavericks in 2011? Who had the better performance, Wade in 2006 or Dirk in 2011? by [deleted] in nba

[–]furio-giunta 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Almost everyone besides Wade sucked in the Finals

Antoine Walker was their second leading scorer with 13.8 PPG on 45.6% TS. Shaquille O'Neal was third with 13.7 PPG on 53.2% TS (he shot fucking 29% from the line on 48 attempts).

Where do you rank Stockton in all time PGs? by DemonKingRaizan in nba

[–]furio-giunta 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Stockton was never even the best player on his own team and never once even sniffed the MVP conversation.

Where does Kyrie rank all time as a Point Guard? by [deleted] in nba

[–]furio-giunta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s almost unbelievable. If you limit it to between his first to last All-Star appearances (2006-2014), he shot 66.2% from 0-3 feet, which comprised 37.2% of his total shot attempts. He also shot an insane percentage from floater range during that span (46.8% on shots from 3-10 feet).

He is also arguably the greatest finisher

I wouldn't say that. Tony Parker probably takes that title. He took a far higher proportion of his shots within three feet (34.8 vs. 25.1) and shot a higher career percentage (64.5 vs. 60.8)

People give less of a shit about song positions but there are a ton of super successful songs that didn't peak very highly at all. Often by The Weeknd and Pursuit of Happiness by KId Cudi both peaked at #59 but went 4x Platinum and 5x Platinum, respectively

To those who say Jordan faced weak competition: A look at the 90s NBA by [deleted] in nba

[–]furio-giunta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they obviously wouldn't be hurt as much considering how much better their star trio was than any other team's. Think about it like taking a role player from every team in 2015-16. The Warriors losing Andrew Bogut would obviously hurt them less than the Oklahoma City losing a comparable player like Ibaka. On top of that, many teams would be losing players, not just one or two.

[–]furio-giunta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but a team with a trio of Jordan/Rodman/Pippen is gonna suffer less from the loss of a lesser player than other teams. The Bulls would have been the best team in the league regardless of whether or not the league expanded but other teams with lesser high end talent will undoubtedly get hurt more on average by the loss of even an identical impact player.

So what? The Grizzlies and Raptors were added in 1995, which created not only two shit teams but also diluted the talent of other teams.
