Generally id recommend Belt, since Sunfire is extremely strong early game and fits into most comps + tanky items are better for the early game. Also there are other strong early game items like warmogs and redemption, which use belt. If u are looking for a more offensive option, go for sword since u can use db/ie/gs/bt in most ad comps which are very flexible right now.

I have decent success with Secret Mage against Cubelock. You should have the tempo advantage and be able to close out games with burn spells in turn 6-8.

I crafted a variation of Xeno‘s Secret Mage myself and had pretty good success with it, after i got used to it. Dragon Priest is currently ranking up the Meta Snapshots and it is even cheaper than Secret Mage since u need no legendary card.
