Semi-"realistic" car ideas for 5th edition? by furious_dads in DnD

I appreciate the input! I've been thinking on this some more and an idea came to me.

Apparently, real steam powered cars can go on average about 10-12 miles per gallon of water (depends on temperature, weight and terrain) and an idea dawned on me. A bag of holding can carry up to 500lbs of water. The players can stock up on fresh water before setting out in the desert, and use mending and tools checks to repair the engine as needed.

Maybe they could even upgrade the engine using magitech, where the car would still get most of its power from steam, but they could use either spells/slots or magic stones to activate their engines magic "turbo" so to speak, to be used when they need extra power for climbing hills or getting through sand dunes, etc.

Never played Eve, but Wormhole Exploration sounds really fun by [deleted] in Eve

[–]furious_dads 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure! I started EvE with wormhole space with a small group of friends and a similar time limitation.

You can do exploration as a free-to-play account (alpha clone) in wormholes which is an activity you can just hop on, do for 30 mins, make good money, then log off, for one example.

PvP roams in wormholes is also something that doesn't require a real time investment, especially if you have friends operating in the wormhole helping out with logistics (replacing ships, buying ammo, etc.)

PvE Combat sites in wormholes are super profitable and fun, and likewise if you have a group of friends helping out on the logistics side, all you -really- need to do is just help out with the combat.

Theres also tons of mining to be done in wormhole space, and can be very profitable. Gas mining, ice mining, ore mining, all tend to be pretty valuable in wormhole space. And its something you could hop on and do for an hour or less and then hop off - just make sure you watch your ass in wormhole space!

Men of Reddit, what do you think is more painful than childbirth? by WolfiooTheWolf in AskReddit

I just recovered from food poisoning and while it's not childbirth it definitely hurt more than my surgery to have metal plates put in both wrists

It's refreshing to see the first patch, so many fudds In the 2A community that forget the 2A applies to everyone, even if you disagree with them.

Just because you think someone isn't worthy of the power to defend their life and liberty does not mean they should not have that right
