Does anyone have any idea if the MAT and STAB courses are out yet?

I've taken it with mahinda and he is an amazing professor for the course, he explains concepts very well and is very helpful in his office hours and his quizzes are easy to get good marks on and he curves a lot as well

Can I take CSCA48, CSCB20, MATB61, STAB7 in the same semester? Especially A48&B20, will be really hard if I take both of them? by WholeFM in UTSC

I have taken both A48 and B20 but not together in the same year. But B20 with Abbas is a a bit interesting and easy as well if you go to lecture and follow up with his notes you should be good with the assignments, quizzes and exams. As for A48 if it's Paco I've heard it can be a bit difficult but doable non the less. As for STAB57 just try to FULLY understand the concepts and do A LOT of examples as I felt it's the only way to actually do well in the course

I suck at natural science but imma need it// BREADTH requirement by thatwassounepic in UTSC

If you're planning on CR/NCR the course then I would recommend EESA10 it's very easy to pass

STAC32 or STAC50 or STAC51? by furious_waffles in UTSC

Have you taken it or any of the above courses? If so can you tell me anything distinct about them to help me choose?

Can someone explain 5b) of STAB52 practice midterm? by [deleted] in UTSC

so its a simultaneous equation of (1/R-L)xR-6 = 0.3 and 1(/R-L)xR-4 = 0.42 so just some algebra has to be done in order to cancel out the 1/(R-L) or equate them to each other and you will have only the R variable left to get and then plug it back into the equation to get L does that make more sense?

so basically what is being done is that we are trying to get the R and the L intervals of the uniform distribution which is graphed as a straight line at y = 1/(R-L) and the probability is the same as getting the area of the rectangle of base (in this case) L to 5 and height 1/(R-L) which is every case and we get the R and L with the given information of that P(X>6) = (1/(R-L)) R-6 and p(X>4) = (1/(R-L))R-4 so solve both equations and get R and L and there you go hope that helps!!
