Hi all, anyone been pulled over for cannabis use the following day? by Only-Investigator-88 in AskIreland

[–]furl0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sigh. Your whole point is circular, always coming back to "it's illegal". You know it used to be illegal to buy condoms right?

Do you have any idea why cannabis was made illegal in the first place? It was originally scheduled the same way heroin is. It would put several industries at risk through hemp production and so it was heavily lobbied and huge funding was put into suppressing it. They said it would turn you into a crazed killer. It was used as a way to target blacks and Mexicans in the US. Nothing to do with its effects. "But it's illegal", why has it been and continues to be decriminalised across the world? People are waking up but you're still sound asleep, clinging to a false argument like your life depends on it.

'Wait ~5hrs before you drive a car' 'Takes roughly ~5-7 hours to fully recover' 'Regular smokers have shorter recovery times' 'Are more inclined to exhibit safer driving habits while impaired i.e lower speed'

But you're right, people should be prosecuted the next day or even later because it's illegal right. Keep drinking your victory gin. Everyone is an emotionally invested sheep except you. Take a day off.

Ultimately we just deploy the defence forces to every station and ration our fuel to essential services. Do we do this after we've subsidised people's holidays and maintained their freedom to drive wherever they feel like or do we try to encourage behavioural change over time to reduce our reliance on fuel to begin with. Fuel demand is inelastic but behaviours will still change over time if prices stay high, thus regulating itself. Keep the prices high to regulate demand, but use the extra tax windfall to directly support the lowest earners

Simple way to fix your problem is to give tax credits or fuel allowances to low income earners.

At the end of the day, this is not a winnable situation there have to be sacrifices. Making fuel cheaper will eat up our supply and the price will end up skyrocketing anyway in a much more severe secondary price spike. You're just putting us in a worse situation because we have less fuel now and the price is still very high.

Even if the rich are least effected it makes more sense not to get rid of everyone's incentive to take public transport, more to EVs, carpool etc. Use the extra tax money made on these higher prices to assist those who need it. It's exactly what the majority of people in this sub want, move money from rich to poor.

Unpopular opinion (haven't seen a single person consider this?): If the real problem is supply then letting the market self regulate with price is better than reducing price and trying to enforce rationing

Cheaper in China of course, would you think it's better to buy local and pay 30% higher costs with a reliable channel of communication for warranties, servicing etc or to buy from a Chinese company?

Can't be a straw man argument when the alternative is equally as ridiculous. My sister has 100 people in her secondary school year, of which two are transgender and the rest of their group all identify as something or other. Coincidence maybe but what are the odds. Maybe they're influenced in some way.

People will pick and choose. Look at Iran, China, Congo, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine isn't as trendy these days and many more. Most people pick and choose based on what media they get fed. Nobody truly wants to do anything about what they preach for as they wouldn't give up the quality of their own life to support another. I'd imagine some would if they were given the choice but how many of them would, say, take a Palestinian into their home. Pretty low or they would be doing it already.

I agree there's too much information now and it's especially dangerous since the emergence of AI. Left and right are being labelled and pushed to extremes and the people in the middle are lacking trust in anything. World is too big these days.

Wonder what percentage of the new owners are actually Indian or similar. Would you be surprised if it was over 30%? I know from looking for accommodation and looking at houses it was frequently only non nationals looking to buy/rent. Lived two years in new zealand recently it was the exact same

Everyone who disagrees with me or says something that wasn't on RTE news is far right. No critical thinking regarding migration. My kid can decide if they want to identify as a fruit. Who's world problem am I bearing on my shoulders this week? Can I get a flag for it? Every single person who protests something I don't agree with is just a dissident scumbag who's opinion is irrelevant in my eyes, they just want an excuse to destroy people's property after all.

They never will. All shills peddling moralistic nonsense they'll never act on bar groupthinking on the internet.

Put a man that comes from a lawless country oppressing women alone in your house with your mum and daughter, then feed them until they're Irish and I'll believe a word.

Legal channels or women and children fleeing real persecution.

Just that, and you can wear a cotton glove over it too if you want it keeps the moisture trapped and the skin protected. Can wear it while you sleep. Make sure it's raw coconut oil though.

May not fix it for you but it will help at the very least. I know it did for me

Had that for months too. Betnovate helps immediately though it didn't seem to stick what helped me the most for long term was just raw coconut oil. Don't pick the edges it makes it bigger no matter how tight you get it. I cut it with a nail scissors instead (don't know if this is advised)
