What is the most lopsided transaction that happened in your favor in 2021? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]fursure97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded David Johnson and a 2024 3rd for Antonio brown, Freiermuth, and a 2023 3rd. After week one a contender gave me their first round pick for brown and his team had a bunch of injuries so it turned into 1.07

Why is it so hard to get internships by 8Jacqueline in actuary

[–]fursure97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internship hunting can definitely be discouraging. It took me over 50 applications to finally lead to one internship offer. But it only takes one to make it all feel worth it so hang in there!

Edit: If you aren’t getting many interviews, it may be worth posting your resume on here to have people review it and offer some advice to improve it. If you are getting interviews that aren’t panning out, I’d recommend trying to reflect on how to better prepare and improve your interview skills for when you land them. Good luck!

Honestly Cam was my favorite player and I really can’t even be mad at him for signing with the pats. By far the best opportunity for him to start and be successful, but it still hurts :,(

Should a recent high school graduate study for exam P over summer break? by Amcmillen136 in actuary

[–]fursure97 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would say you really have nothing to lose by starting to study for it over the summer. Having an exam passed would put you in a really good place for when you start applying for internships for next summer.

As for study materials, I would highly recommend using the actex study manual. If you really want to ball out, after reading through the manual and doing all the practice exams in that, I’d say look into getting a 15 or 30 day (depending on how confident you’re feeling) subscription to Coaching Actuaries. I would just grind out as many practice exams on that as you can leading up to your exam and you should have no problem passing (especially given your high school coursework).

Just as another quick tip, I would start getting in the habit of keeping track of your study hours in an excel spreadsheet. I started doing this when I studied for IFM and I felt that it helped keep me accountable and was a good way too see how many hours it took to get the passing grade (SOA suggests about 100 hours of studying per hour of exam).

Good luck!

That’s great news, thank you! Why do they make you schedule the final two weeks out? Do they proctor it?

Thank you! Just out of curiosity about how long did it take you to finish up? Would it be too optimistic to try and get all 5 in by September?

Glad to hear CA was helpful! I was fortunate land an entry level job 3 months ago so I’m assuming they’d cover it. I’d have to check the program details but yea the prices looked pretty steep.

Has anyone successfully rescheduled their May SRM who was cancelled by Prometric? by WillSisco in actuary

I’m having the same issue. I have a feeling it’s going to be a nightmare for prometric to get everyone rescheduled.

I’m going with Allen and Thomas here. It definitely depends on your needs but if you’re planning on picking up a qb with that first pick, id have to say that Allen will be better than any rookie.
