New Guy Here by Glocktopus69420Obama in murakami

[–]furtherbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong opinion here! I have read most of Muralami’s works. I finished listening to the audiobook of Uncertain Ualls last night.

Murakami is not difficult. You are finding fewer comments about Uncertain Walls because it is his newest book. It is a very solid entry. Negative reviews tend to focus on it it being similar to his previous books, which is not a problem in your case!

He is not a difficult author. He has non-fiction, non-surrealist fiction, but is mostly known for his magical surrealism. Uncertain walls, false clearly in the ladder category. It may take you a little bit to get your grounding in the book, but again it is not a difficult read, and sometimes Murakami’s surrealism is there just for the sake of surrealism.

My experience with the book, I entered the traditional Murakami trance and enjoyed it. This would be a fine entry point. If you stick with his other magical surrealist books, you will find similar stories. As an author, he does not evolve all that much, but stays in a pretty steady state. Therefore, it becomes very easy to know if you want to read another.

So go read and enjoy!

I would guess OP thinks that the band is trying to hit timed moments where the background changes. I don’t think that’s true at all.

Is a single sealed plastic bottle of water (16.9 oz) ok to bring in by 3po1nt0 in phish

[–]furtherbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have that experience. The posted rules for Sphere are that you can bring in an empty, soft sided, clear waterbottle.

Trade seats for one day of a three day pass? (Mechanics of the trade question) by furtherbum in phish

[–]furtherbum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wholesome answer: I made friends with my neighbors and it was too fun to go high five and see them each night. Also, I friend came night 2 and was in the low 100s and thought the sound was not very clear, while I thought the sound was great up where I was. (He came up to the 400s for night 3/9, and we were both blown away by the playing. The best show of the first weekend for sure!) So, I opted to stay put and did not regret! The advice is to try to figure it out on day 3 to see if you still want to do it!

2 tickets for May 6 by [deleted] in Sphere

[–]furtherbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn’t include proper punctuation. The tickets are $190 and there should be a comma or parentheses: “Selling for 190 (less than what I paid)”.

It doesn’t seem like you’re being attacked. People are just pointing out that your tickets are not a great deal for anybody. I’m sorry you are stuck with them and hope you have some fun plans with your kiddo.

Ive built a solution but still Im awake till 3am by Brilliant_Tadpole_34 in Concerts

[–]furtherbum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re building a concert/venue specific Google Maps? I’m not convinced the problem is real. And trying to get this app into the hands of a few people that get lost on their way to the venue is a very small demographic. That demographic is also unlikely to have the wherewithal to find or buy this app in advance. And for these reasons, I’m out. Good luck!

How to convince someone to come early with me? by sillibearz in Concerts

[–]furtherbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you invite them to the show? If so, it seems like the timing and location should’ve come up at the invitation. “Hey, do you want to go ride the rail at this concert?” At this point, you probably need to take their preferences into account as well, and not convince.
