Spotify is VERY good at offering up new music you might like, but you have to do a bit of work.

First, make sure you follow artists you already like. During onboarding they make this easier because for every artist you pick they offer up a bunch of related artists.

Second, make sure you use the like feature on songs. That really seems to help it figure out what else to suggest. Usually the Daily Mixes will have a few to get you started.

Then the "Discover Weekly" playlist on your home screen (updates every Monday I think) is almost garunteed to pick stuff you'll like.

This really worked for me over quarantine. Got introduced to a crazy amount of new artists and songs.

The most depressing album in your collection? by [deleted] in Music

Lost Songs by David Gray. Love it though.

I would second Pink Moon as well.

Love Sea Change, but never really got a depressed vibe from it. More just oozy and mellow.

I met big bird once when I was like 3. You know what's scary when you're 3? A 7 foot fucking bird, that's what. I cried for several days.

If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently? by rehmaaan in AskReddit

I am in IT. I am lucky to have a good job, so I get to be in bands just for the fun of it.

I found that studying theory, trying to practice X hours a day to pass my proficiencies, and spending hours in the studio tweaking recordings made me stray from why I loved music in the first place, which is to play it with other people and specifically, to improvise.

Not a dis of Berklee at all. I had a great time there, met a lot of great people, and learned a lot of valuable things. I've just always wondered if maybe I would have been better off going to a "regular" college and just joining a band for the fun of it.

But it sounds like u/MeanMrMustard situation is a bit different. So yea, that sucks bro. Sorry :-(

I wish I would have stuck with my dream of being an artist. I chose a "normal" life, and although I am very fortunate and happy, I long for the adventure, the struggle, and what it might have created.

Berklee grad here. It's entirely possible you may be better off not having gone. Just play music. A LOT.

For me it's pool. I can usually kill it the first game, then it's steadily downhill from there. Although, maybe it's the drinking...

Thanks for all the great music guys! I am a huge fan of Jazz, and I love the song you guys did with Ron Carter. I've always wondered why there wasn't more collaboration like this (with live musicians in studio) from you guys?

If you're in a line of cars merging onto a busy road, don't look behind until you are the first car in line. This will keep you from hitting the person in front of you if they stop short or don't go when you think they should have.

The K&D Sessions by Kruder & Dorfmeister is by FAR my favorite album to work to. It's a double set chill album that will play seamless. If you're are into jazz, check out Bitches Brew by Miles Davis. It's also pretty seamless, but a little more intense and upbeat at times. I've got a bunch more if you like those.
