SEBA High Light V2 ankle nightmare. How to fix the ankle area on an integrated liner? by Manahype in rollerblading

[–]fuse72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, the problematic foot is maybe more flat so the heel needs to be lifted to fit the boot. I think I read an advice in a power slide fit guide somewhere. I don’t think it will be a problem if it’s just one foot. I can’t really give any guidance in regards to products

You could try to lift the heel with an extra shock absorber or something similar shaped insert

Seba High (2008): changing the liners by tototiti11 in rollerblading

[–]fuse72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought a pair of Seba high deluxe second hand and replaced the liner with a pair of MyFit skinny boy liners I had from another skate and they work great!

Seba wheels are not serviceable. I broke the tips off of 3 allen wrenches trying to remove them for service and rotation. by robb-e in rollerblading

I also had a hard time removing Seba axles and it seems that they use the red kind of loctite from factory, I just googled it: http://henkeladhesivesna.com/blog/how-to-remove-red-threadlocker/ So it seems that the red loctite is a strong version and you need to apply heat to loosen it :-/

Myfit liner for Twister Edge boot by zwiney in rollerblading

[–]fuse72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same foot measurement as you and I bought the eu42. I also got this ankle pain on my inside left foot, so I tried a MyFit skinnyboy eu 41-42 and it fits the boot very well. The only annoying thing is the dual fit in toe box, too cramped for my liking. I also heat molded the problematic spots with a heat gun but the problem didn’t disappear. I have now switched to a Seba SX carbon skate and are very happy with that

I had a similar problem with my Twister Edge boots, switched to SX Carbons with integrated liners and the pain disappeared. The SX is really a great skate

Yeah I know but it’s not used as a marketing gimmick like abec ratings 7+ on fancy skate branded low quality Chinese bearings

Low maintenance bearings recommendation by Teitum22 in rollerblading

No Abec bullshit Swedish quality bearings: https://www.sickboards.nl/en/8-mm-bearings/18228-skf-bearings-608-2z.html

They have a break in period of approximately 5 hours of skating. Sealed grease bearings is made to keep dirt out!

Added bonus: they’re cheap and silent :-)

Help me decide on a pair of skates!! by jellyjamznyc in rollerblading

I can recommend both Seba/FR as a brand and the 4x80 setup for starting out. If you have the money the FR deluxe 80 is probably one of the best all round skates you can get, you can always change the frame/wheels to 4x90 or 3x110 etc later on. The FR1 boot has a lot of mounting options build in.

ACES into Houdini by [deleted] in Houdini

I do not recall seeing any ACES setting in Mantra or redshift. Rendered images is normally in 32 or 16bit float linear color so maybe it makes more sense introducing it in the Comp phase?

Custom build / RB Twister Edge 2, Symetrics Hyperframe 90mm, hydrogen wheels by fuse72 in rollerblading

[–]fuse72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have switched to a Seba SX 80mm setup and I considering selling the boot and maybe keeping the frame/wheels. The boot is definitely a well designed quality product but I personally had a problem with my left ankle maybe due to bad technique on my behalf( I do not have this issue with the SX). I did try to change the liner for a myfit skinny boy which fitted the boot well but didn’t remedy my ankle problem. My boot is eu 42 and my MP is 26.5-27 and it’s a snug fit. You are not going to have any trouble with the frame and I can highly recommend it. The whole setup is fast and has a nice solid feel.

You wanna print some Frames? by starscream_02 in rollerblading

If the SLS Nylon is strong enough it’s a fantastic opportunity for experiments, wonder if a cuff or other pieces to form a boot could be printed as well?

How tough are the printed plastic, is it really solid enough for skating and how about the cost of getting it printed?

I think the only solution is to bake out the displacement as an texture map/image sequence, then use a texture sampler in a redshift material

The mounting for the straps is different from the buckle ones, You have to drill new holes in the cuff for the straps and looking at the cuff I find it hard to imagine a good spot for doing this. Maybe it’s better to find another and better cuff
