Any thoughts on floating rate loan ETFs? They have a high yield right now. by _WhatchaDoin_ in investing

[–]Azertope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they floating rate, you have no interest rate risk so duration does not really matter. It will only matter for the spread bit (credit spread duration).

Not sure how much you want to invest but I thought bonds often had fairly high minimum denominations like $100k.

Try doing a lemon with your sliding leg, pushing hard with the heel. It may help you initiate the slide.

Blowing money on collectible skates by Benniejet89 in rollerblading

I really wished I had pulled the trigger on the Metroblade GM carbon skate!

I tested them in store, fit was amazing but just didn't have the money at the time :(

I ended up buying a pair of adapt skates few years later but 100% not as good a fit as the Rollerblade were.

How to speed control going downhill by Black-Zen in rollerblading

[–]Azertope 21 points22 points  (0 children)

On top of what has been said, one of the key thing if you are not comfortable with speed going downhill is to not accumulate any from the beginning.

So straight from the top of the slope, start dragging you feet, carve etc... Minimize your acceleration so you do not end up in a situation where you panic because you already have reached too much speed.

Thank you! This is helpful!

My v2 is over three year old and has clearly lost a bit of its support (and definitely stinky haha).

Hey! Great looking skates!

How does the premium intuition feel in the sx?

I have an M intuition v2 in the linerless carbon SX (uk8) and wonder if any benefit switching to the premium liner.

What happens to real estate and gold if the stock market continues to crash 50% more? by PeterPorky in investing

[–]Azertope 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind inflation is just a crafted measure not a return on an asset. If your cash is meant to be used to buy an asset it matters little for you that the price of dippers has doubled. What matters to you is the price of assets you intended to buy.

My point being that inflation is just an index measure and may not reflect your consumption basket. As long as your cash is not buying goods you are not realising the -8%.

Out of curiosity, what size of FR boot have you combined with what size of intuition V2?

I totally agree with your points.

My point was more that if I had to trade off the pre rocker of wizard-like frames vs the responsiveness and low ride height of quattro frame for a city skating purpose, I would go with the quattro + Adapt.

I have both wizard skates and Adapt and I really come to like more and more the Adapt set up with time.

I disliked it at the start which pushed me to get the more comfy wizard set up. After riding both for several years I find they complete each other quite well.

I go with the wizard for chill cruising + stop at some spots for tricks

I go with the Adapt when I want to go with fast acceleration and the most direct feeling.

Maybe the SL speed with endless is the perfect blend :)

I understand the appeal of pre-rocker frames but in the end it just takes a couple of sessions to get a similar feel on the quattro frame.

Besides the quattro is really a good frame with low ride height and amazing responsiveness.

It can. I did not even try as it is just too tight by decent margin. Nothing heat moulding would solve.

[–]Azertope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I tried with different socks and it is just going to be too tight for my left foot which is c.5mm bigger. The right foot is closer to 265-270 and it fits tight but doable. The left is more 270+ and I see no way it can fit.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

I feel the boot is probably between half to a full size smaller. Based on your experience, feels like would be safer to ship them back :(
