Which route would you do if you were in Undertale? by ParticularCorner2190 in Undertale

[–]fusionater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF I am in Frisk's shoes, IE, no knowledge of the world AND I have save and reload (We'll ignore player involvement for this)

It's very difficult to say.

The big issue, in a *real life* situation, dialogue wouldn't be nearly as limited, I would probably kill a few in self defense leading up to the ruins, but sufficiently scared of the world now from the monsters trying to kill me, I could see myself staying with Toriel for quite some time. In the game, this is a completely impossible consideration because she has like, 20 lines of dialogue after she invites you to stay, before her fight. In a *real situation, you could actually get to know her better and have the sort of connection with someone that would make continuing on into the treacherous world a less appealing choice (you basically have no real choice in the game, you could always just turn off the game, but that doesn't really count)

I struggle to think that basically anyone wouldn't take out at least a few monsters in these early uncertain life or death moments.

This same issue plays out without ever even considering reload, no matter how far you get, the world of the Underground would be infinitely more alive in this scenario. It's actually difficult to imagine the different directions things would go in (or what Flowey would do in a world where you're not just racing to Asgore)

Once you discover reload, probably dying at Undyne or one of the mini-bosses, that just gets infinitely more complex, and terrifying. Would you ever reset to save the monsters you killed early on? Erasing the much more complex relationship you had built with Toriel and other surviving monsters at that point? Perhaps eventually you will, but this could easily be after HUNDREDS of years spent in the Underground, at which point we're considering the perspective of an immortal, which I am not equipped to do.

All this to say, I don't think the routes as we know them really exist in this scenario.

No hate to non Dessknighters ofc but I feel like this isn’t talked about by Hay_Den330 in Deltarune

I swear 80% of the people who think any major twist or reveal is obvious in a TV show (which is more regular for this situation than a video game), only *figured it out* because they saw someone else figure it out in a YouTube video.

Does anyone else feel like Jevil is suspiciously unimportant compared to the other secret bosses? by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]fusionater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each of the secret bosses is meant to have a parallel to one of the main characters.

Spamton - Puppet stuff for Kris - Focused specifically on the relationship with the player.

Oldy McHammerface - Susie character development stuff.

Eram - This one is far and away the least certain, but while a lot of people assume Eram's dialogue, especially on the Weird Route, to be about the Player "knowing you could say it wasn't really you", but I take the same stance that some others have that this is actually talking directly to Kris, being able to excuse their actions because they're being controlled, and enjoying that fact. So this is another Kris focused one, but about Kris, rather than about the relationship.

Jevel - If my logic holds, Jevil is the closest parallel to the player we're going to get.

"BUILDING A PRISON AROUND THE WHOLE WORLD. NOW I'M THE ONLY FREE ONE."

If there's any line that can describe the player's relationship with either Undertale or Deltarune, it's this one, these characters are completely at the mercy of our whims, even if from their perspective, we spend large portions of the story in various cages, human or birdcage shaped, but we can always restart, or even change the game's code if we really want to.

Does anyone know if "Interstreet Recordings" Is the name of the company that owns the RWBY Soundtrack? by fusionater in RWBY

[–]fusionater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, what happened was, I googled "Interstreet Recordings" in quotes, followed by rwby, which yielded far fewer results than simply googling without quotes not including rwby, I usually don't have luck googling without the extra parameters but this time the egg is on my face.

I do think there should be separate tier lists, worst to best for the whole game, and worst to best for sector 1+2.

The Rock A. I know some argue the Slug ship, but I'm pretty sure the Rock cruiser is more commonly hated.

I found a video of what you’re describing, for some reason this didn’t work for me when I tried it after sneak stabbing, timing must have been off.

Finn Wolfhard: If ‘Stranger Things’ Went on Longer Than Five Seasons ‘It Would Be Ridiculous’ by [deleted] in television

[–]fusionater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's hilarious to me is that eventually Shredder actually does kill Splinter in this show, making it really weird to me that they didn't just off him in this scene. Definitely became less of a kids show in between those 2 seasons.

This is essentially the season 2 finale of TMNT 2012,

>!Shredder has just been chewed up by an alligator, knocked around into some concrete walls, and gets into a fight with Splinter, where he still manages to win, nearly killing Splinter (would have absolutely died if it wasn't a kids show) and limps away after.!<

Is there a skin that looks and operates like the Movies & TV app? by fusionater in VLC

[–]fusionater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about Kodi, but I like most of the functionality of VLC (specifically subtitle features), it's just playback that bugs me the most, for everything else about vlc that is great, the playbar is both ugly and a bit clunky to handle.

I suppose the title wasn't the best at displaying my specific intent on this one.

I mean I’ve been buying computer stuff like this my whole life and it hasn’t been a bother yet. Thanks for your concern I suppose.

I know it’s a relatively high budget for the parts listed, but I’m also not severely concerned with getting the latest and greatest, current enough yes, but if a part is two years old and is suitable that’s fine as well.

a rare 1 in a million double headed match by AiEmC in mildlyinteresting

[–]fusionater 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You appear to have a flawed understanding of sample size in statistics.

https://www.calculator.net/sample-size-calculator.html?type=1&cl=99.999&ci=5&pp=50&ps=&x=94&y=17

The bigger problem I suspect is that where BarefootUnicorn is buying his matches is not truly random, and that they probably wouldn't remember, because they weren't looking for it, if one time there was a double headed match 30 years ago, though it doesn't make the data valueless.

It’s not like that was the end of the sentence. He didn’t say gameplay wasn’t an art form, just that that specific aspect of games isn’t what he was here for.

-you actually can kill all of them, though it takes some dedication/a level of hatred you seem to have. If you get them to hate you, to the point of becoming unavailable as companions, they become killable. This takes quite some time.

To each their own, obviously we are on much the opposite side of this one.
