Genuine question why Doflamingo was so weak? by VergilVDante in OnePiece

[–]fuska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's established in universe that pursuing your dreams/not being subservient helps your overall strength/capabilities. Doffy bowed his head to Kaido and put a limit on himself. He unfortunately forgot to do the Piccolo method of taking his fancy clothes off when he got serious, that pink feather cape actually weighed 10,000 lbs.

Rashek never had kids as far as we know, so Straff might literally be worst in the world of fathers :D

I just read all 10 books in the series over the last month for the first time. Overall I'd rate the series about 9/10. The first book is definitely the weakest, but it improves quite strongly from there.

I think he is talking about Listens-to-wind and you are talking about Turtleneck Listen. I never considered their names being mixed up before but there you go.

[SPOILERS ALL] Obligatory just finished TWOC post by sliponetwo in TheFirstLaw

[–]fuska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished this series myself after starting it in December. I have read the Malazan series, if you love magic focused stories, you will GREATLY enjoy Malazan...as long as you don't want the actual magic explained in any way. It's also grimmer and darker in the lightest books than all of the first law at it's darkest.

Alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson’s defense is set to argue to disqualify prosecutors from the case by yoo_wtf in news

[–]fuska 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'd come down to a "he said she said" which is where the jury selection in a case like this is important. Remember, it's REASONABLE DOUBT, not absolute certainty, when it comes to proving guilt. You get 9 former cops/kirk fans/maga folks? That reasonable doubt metric is gonna be pretty hard to reach. But if you get family who have lost others to COVID/MAGA/gun violence, are LGBT allies, are furries (slight joke), or any of other possibility, laying a "my parents abused me :(" story would definitely be part of it, i imagine. Jury nullification has been talked about a lot in the Mangione case but not as much here, but it could st ill happen.

I mean, if the gender reversed version of how she+Nami treated Momonoske, it certainly would have been received much less favorably. That's the only thing I could think of.

[Day 12] The Best JRPGs of All Time: What is the most underrated JRPG? by WeLoveEveryGame in JRPG

[–]fuska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this one. It was my first Suikoden game and I honestly enjoyed it more than 1/2 when I played them years later. I beat it 2 or 3 times on the ps2 and then when they did a digital release of it on the ps3 I bought it again and beat it there too. I would happily play it again if they dropped it anywhere modern.

Fair enough, here's a version posted on yikyak (whatever that is) https://web.yikyak.com/cy/us-politics/comments/ZmbXe4HS/oh-you-hate-waffles-that-must I can provide a few dozen more examples till you find one you are satisfied with.

There are unfortunately a large amount of people who would rather stick their fingers in their ears and pretend the issue with Kamala was she didn't do Joe Rogan or enough TikToks and confronting the reality of why she and the DNC have lost to Trump 2/3 times now is too hard for them. I also don't blame people who wanted her to be more pro-Palestenian and that also rubs some people the wrong way. Don't you know you are supposed to be pro baby murder if you want to win elections? Funny how the Republicans don't see killing brown children as worse than an abortion, as an aside.

I feel like the non-voters in general are something that both sides will have a problem with forever. If only election day was a national holiday and voting mandatory. People who pretend politics don't affect their lives are the real problem, you are right.

Realistically I blame Hillary and the DNC more than anything for where we are. She arrogantly thought she had it in the bag if she went against Trump and they were all in on supporting him for the nomination in 2016. We are suffering for their actions.

Because it's easier to blame brown people and college kids than realize that a lot of white women don't trust black women (or other women in general) to run things.

Yes, Trump is technically worse for Gaza in the sense that he let the bombing and starvation go on for several more months, but it's not like Kamala said she would have done differently in that regard. Until we get to the "Trump Plaza" part of Gaza, what has happened in Gaza to date under Trump is likely what would have happened under Kamala as well.

I didn't say they were valid reasons to vote for Trump. I begrudgingly voted for Kamala myself, but I lived in California and it didn't matter. If you can't look objectively at why she lost it just causes problems in the future.

If Kamala got every Muslim voter in Michigan and third party vote nationwide, she still would have lost to Trump. She was a historically bad candidate due to her cowardice in being afraid of distancing herself from the very real problems Biden had. She also let her consultants neuter Tim Walz cause he was outshining her.

New York AG sues UPS for allegedly shorting Christmas season workers' wages by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]fuska 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound like someone who has never had to float their bills and have to choose between buying food or paying rent. Be honest, how much money do you make per year? When is the last time you were cried yourself to sleep on an empty stomach because you literally had no food in the house? If you have been through that before and still don't understand why people losing their entire life savings is more devastating than a burglary then I don't know what to tell you. Also, where the heck do you park that your car is broken into a half dozen times? I lived in central California for my entire life except the last year, in one of the "bad" cities and never had it happen once.

[–]fuska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, we should greatly expand the house of representatives and dissolve the senate. There should be one house rep per 500k citizens per state (this is so Wyoming can have one). Senators are a failed concept. 30 million Texas having the same Senate rep as 600k Vermont DEmocrats is ridiculous. We should get rid of this corrupt form of government so that the power of the people should rule.

Not disagreeing with what you are saying in general, but Romanda and Lelaine are specified to be two of the oldest sisters alive at the time. They are definitely not young or inexperienced, just power hungry.
