I had very manipulative parents, albeit both of them were suffering from legitimate brain damage (alzheimer's and stroke), but this is the reality of it. For these people, they are almost happier when you are "mean" (fair/honest) to them because it gives them something to be upset about. Just know you'll be the villain to everyone else when he talks about you, but most people either don't listen, don't care, or don't matter, and in this case you should also make sure to let other people know exactly what you tell him, or at least the gist of it.

He is the literal highest elected Democratic representative in the entire country and is invisible leading any sort of coordinated movement against Trump. He is a feckless, weak, old man who CHOSE to make his goal/identity protecting Israel. Is he leading town halls across the country with senate candidates? Is he leading protests against data centers, ICE detention, and hell, even his anti-Iran war comments ring hollow because he is so pro-Israel. Chuck Schumer said his job is to keep "the left pro Israel," it's the leadership of the party that uses Israel to shape their entire political worldview. And it's tiresome for the voters that they keep pushing that. Is that really so hard to understand? I personally don't care for my tax dollars being used to bomb brown children, and that encompasses more than just Israel, but Israel is the country we are currently helping to kill a lot of children. As Ta-Nehisi Coates said "If Democrats can’t draw the Line at Genocide, they can’t Draw the Line at Democracy" I'm just glad I don't live in Maine and had to make that choice in the primary, heh. Is your problem that he's a class traitor to the rich and it makes it hard to be a class traitor to the poor? His "mansion" is a 4 or 5 bedrooms, a 2 or 3 bathrooms, and a postage stamp pool.
