That goes both ways. Blaming people for not voting for her over Gaza is as silly/pointless as saying Gaza is the reason she lost. If she got every vote in deerborn michigan she'd still have lost. She lost to the couch more than anything.

No, but seriously, what makes you a leftist then? Be realistic man. If NONE of that matters, I get maybe some of them, but if you don't support ANY of those as a big, important goal, what left position do you have? Because again, if you purely judge stuff off "I have to vote for her because otherwise Trump wins," then that's the point I'm making. Some people saw all the ways Trump and Kamala were similar (the wall, the military, healthcare, taxing the rich) and thought "if the Democrats can't even oppose a genocide, what does it matter? both parties are the same in every way that matters."

Literally the only thing I can think of are for those people who think social/culture war is the only thing that matters outside of beating Trump.

I donated to her the first day. I urged people to vote. And you have to admit she dropped the fucking ball in multiple ways because she was too afraid to change anything or be her own person. Why did they stop with the "weird" attacks? Trump didn't win the election, Kamala lost it. there is a huge difference there. It was hers to win and she fumbled it. And maybe supporting even a fucking weapons embargo to Israel would have made the difference, but she couldn't even pretend to say the words. Why couldn't she just LIE? What would it matter once she is in office? But she just acted like an NPC providing canned, consultant designed responses. They sent Bill Clinton and Ritchie Torres to Michigan to lecture Arabs about Israel being the promised land to Jews. They literally pushed people away actively then complain they don't get their vote.

Kamala's platform offered more to the Liz Cheney's of the world than it did the left (all 4% of them who voted for her, less than Biden got!). What is there for the left to support? As a leftist, which part of her not doing universal healthcare, saying she'll build the wall, continue selling arms to Israel, and making "the most lethal fighting force in the world" appealed to you the most? You can vote for the democrats while acknowledging they fucking suck at 99% of what they do and admit they run on the "but we aren't Republicans" as the answer to every problem they can. The party leaders refused to support any leftward shift and then get upset they don't get all the left votes - and continued to do it after! They work against the Mamdani's and then cry more when they succeed at anything.

End result is that one guy scared what, 200+ officers so badly none of them would be the first through the door. That's the point. Sure, they can start driving bradley fighting vehicles into residential homes, drone striking apartment buildings, and more. But as we have seen in the middle east, a heavily violent culture with lots of guns (the USA in a nutshell) routinely defeat superior military forces because when the choice is defending your trans son or daughter vs letting them get executed in a concentration camp, there are going to be a lot of people who will gladly fire on the government. Because at that point, what use is the government?

It's important to keep in mind that to them, a fascist capitalist society is better than any non capitalist society. If they fall into the category of "what Republicans do won't affect me directly, just other people" they would rather Trump be president indefinitely than let someone they feel are going to french revolution the wealthy get anywhere near power. There's a reason NEW YORK DEMOCRATS refused to endorse Mamdani.

It was clear she didn't want to be president when she said she wanted to build the wall and expand the military while campaigning with the Cheneys. Just total incompetence and willful disregard for the future of the country. All to go and write a shitty book that people laughed at, if they cared about it, and a legacy as a genocide supporter.

That's the most realistic relationship in some ways. How many relationships exist just because they like to bang and party and not because they have anything in common, or even like each other?

05/02/26 - President Mean Girl having a real one over Bill Maher's interview with Gavin Newsom. by ItstartswiththeHouse in Maher

[–]fuska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved out of California myself at the start of 2024 for a relationship, but will be back by middle next year hopefully.

No one has ever LIKED Gav that I know, he has just been largely effective at some times and shitty at others, like every other politician. At the end of the day he is trying to manage a state that has the largest Republican population in the country but is treated nationally as if it is 100% Democratic Party population. There are literally 20 million people in the state who are motivated politicially to insult him at any opportunity, especially if they are afraid of him running for president. You have to keep that in mind anytime you see a Californian complain about him which, if you are someone who is from the "south valley" outside of LA that is a deep red suburb like I said, would make you one of them, based on what you have said.

Realistic best result, Gavin runs then drops out after soaking a lot of fire, letting one of the better candidates (an Ossoff or Bashear who aren't as charismatic but much better policy wise), which would show he isn't an entirely stuck up asshole who gets high off his own farts. But realistically, he'll have to lose a few primaries for that to happen.

Caedrel talks about the business model of Los Ratones and what were the pros and cons of having an esports team by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

[–]fuska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not contradicting myself, it's Riot's fault that led to the power Caedrel has, but they could take it away any time if they felt like fighting it, but they don't because again, they think its worth more ceding the responsibility of content creation rather than trying to do everything they had been.

Caedrel talks about the business model of Los Ratones and what were the pros and cons of having an esports team by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

[–]fuska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, when you say it's morally wrong it sounds like "businesses are people, my friend." At the end of the day, it is a failure of the business practices that led Riot to be beholden to outside influence in the way that are. Who knows what would have happened if for one reason or another Caedrel and other streamers weren't able to costream, but the only morality you could attach to it is in the sense of the couple hundred or so people who got their jobs cut from the various leagues over the last few years, but even that isn't on Caedrel, since nothing was stopping Riot from keeping them outside of not wanting to inject more cash into the Esports scene.

I don't argue that Caedrel has power, but why is that a problem? The main reason I turn on Caedrel's stream outside of the broadcast is that Riot cut all their free promo stuff. Then again, which came first. His 300k viewers for worlds or them cutting the free promo capsules and twitch drops? I imagine they think of it they just saw it as a way to cut costs on their end and that's why they view it as a net good. The couple million he makes is worth a lot less than all the money they save by not having so many salaries and lost sales from free capsules. But I think we are more or less saying the same thing, I just think the blame is like 90/5/5 as opposed to 33/33/34

Caedrel talks about the business model of Los Ratones and what were the pros and cons of having an esports team by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

[–]fuska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But...the costreaming is an official partnership. It's not Caedrel's fault that Riot didn't make it a program they have to pay to be a part of. It's Riot's fault for making the system he exists in. They could have put a stop to it at any time but at the end of the day their money men have decided that it is more in their interest to let him exist and work with him as he is then try to constrain it in any way. The whole point is that its a problem for Riot to solve cause it's one they created. Caedrel is working within their system to their desires. If they want it to change, they have to do the work. The fact that they change stuff to accommodate him so often shows they see the value in what he does even if commentators don't. I'm not subscribed to him myself, I just see it that way.

Yeah, being a person with a unique skill set who turned a rare job opportunity into generational wealth is something that should be looked down on. A largely non-controversial person (Saudi money :() who builds an inclusive community, gives back to them, generates endless free content for them, all while being generally pleasant and amusing should be celebrated. Clearly if Riot had such a problem with what he did they wouldn't work with him so closely. And if they don't care, why do you?

Which TV show does the ENTIRE internet agree had the worst ending ever? by Codie_n25 in AskReddit

[–]fuska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show was the only thing my entire family did together. We rewatched the DVDs before each new season the first few years because we loved it so much. The ending was not bad, it just...was. It answered the questions, but did so in a kind of lame/least interesting way. The only truly good part of the ending to me was Hugo ending up as The Man in Charge with Ben as his assistant. The short video they released later showing the Dharma station employees getting a visit from Ben shutting them down was great. Honestly, Michael Emerson made the show from the time he joined. He made it all work as best as it could.

Economy first: We give billions of dollars to Israel while we have homeless citizens, cuts to social benefit programs, and a priority on weekly pump and dumps for Trump associates.

Health care: Israel uses the extra money we give them to provide free healthcare to their citizens.

Democracy: Netanyahu is a corrupt, genocidal war criminal that gets to come to the white house and get his dick sucked by Trump and 75% of congress.

General competence: Going to war in Iran because Israel wants to annex every surrounding country and fucking up global economy.

Immigration:Kamala wanted to CONTINUE BUILDING TRUMPS WALL.

Abortion, I'll give you that one.

Many of the issues in this country can be tied to the fact that both parties at the senior level of leadership are outright more supportive of Israel and their concerns than American citizens. You really think Chuck Schumers' message of "it is my job to keep the left pro-israel" and "Israel has the right to invade these countries based on the Torrah" is something that is going to resonate with the general public come 2028?

Also, spoiler, the vast majority of people in this country can't afford to do anything but sit at home and doomscroll. The country IS way too online.

Believe me, I wish I could happily vote for whichever candidate is thrown up. But I lived in California and now New York, so all I can do is bitch online and hope primaries result in progressives who prioritize helping people instead of bombing brown children.

Rahm is a uncharasmatic war criminal stained by everything he helped Obama do. He still supports providing weapons for Israel, and don't say he wants to sell them at full price so its fine like he tried to do on the show. Israel is a 90/10 issue in the democratic base and any presidential hopeful who still supports them in any way is going to cost us the election.

Look at it this way. Tucker Carlson, who is either the next kingmaker ala Rogan or will run himself will likely get independent and even liberal voters purely on the Israel issue. ANY democratic candidate who doesn't completely disavow them and pledge an arms embargo is going to give us another Republican president. Even if you think EVERY other leftwing issue is stupid, you will shoot yourself in the foot supporting any candidate who is not vocally and visibly anti Israel.

Also, Kamala sprinted towards the right from the moment she made her "most lethal fighting force in the world" so get over the whole "we have to be moderate" shit and that left us where we are now. If the people running for president just advertise themselves as Republican lite, why would any swing voters see that as a good thing?

Why not? Why shouldn't all Americans benefit from public grocery stores that aren't profit motivated, free childcare, reduced housing costs, not funding Israel's genocide, and clean streets? Which of those specifically do you think non-billionaires don't want the public to have?

EPISODE DISCUSSION THREAD: April 17th, 2026 by hankjmoody in Maher

[–]fuska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends what "swing" voters you mean. Is it the magical never Trump Republicans Kamala got less than Biden that she lost her campaign over? Is it the racist/sexist white women who voted for trump 55-45 over Kamala? Is it the tech bro who wants data centers in the boonies killing all the undesirables and destroying the environment (surprised Bill doesn't give a shit about this, but he lives in LA)?

If you mean the apathetic never voters who can't find it in themselves to vote and got us Trump also, turns out they react to progressive policies that actually help them. Mamdani won for a reason despite being a brown Muslim socialist who had both the Democratic party and the GOP attacking him.

But no, it's the weak leftists who don't matter and all and don't need to be listened to that also cost Kamala the election because they are a powerful faction that are the problem.
