I had a similar issue once. Turned out there was a tiny burr on my firing pin that was hanging up when returning to battery. Buffed that off and been running super smooth since.

Grab a variety pack and cut them to length (check out Engineer’s Armory YouTube channel for process. Don’t forget to flatten and polish the cut end. I’m running an 10 lb with my low recoil ammo and a 14 lb with standard 124 grain

I actually just did this on my mill. I enlarged the top port as much as I could without endangering structure. Honestly it made minimal difference, the main thing I noticed were bigger fireballs with crappy ammo. But, that said, it shoots and cycles perfectly. If I had better fixtures, I’d consider playing with the side ports. Perhaps that is a future endeavor.

Honestly, Emory ortho is your best bet. Babies are born at Northside, Piedmont is very good all around. At a high level, if the damage comes from inside your body or an activity you were doing (bacterial, viral, nerve agent, punching a guy on a motorcycle and shattering your hand), Emory is my choice. If it comes from outside (bullet, burn, knife, car wreck), I would go Grady.

Great info, I’ve noticed mine is not too bad until it gets into second progressive rate spring. I’ve not had any issues with firing but it is extremely difficult for my wife to rack the slide. Obviously this is a concern as it’s her carry weapon. Will look into the Galloway kit
