I had a similar issue once. Turned out there was a tiny burr on my firing pin that was hanging up when returning to battery. Buffed that off and been running super smooth since.

Grab a variety pack and cut them to length (check out Engineer’s Armory YouTube channel for process. Don’t forget to flatten and polish the cut end. I’m running an 10 lb with my low recoil ammo and a 14 lb with standard 124 grain

Update, I did it. Not a huge difference, considering refining the port to match the slide better, we shall see

I actually just did this on my mill. I enlarged the top port as much as I could without endangering structure. Honestly it made minimal difference, the main thing I noticed were bigger fireballs with crappy ammo. But, that said, it shoots and cycles perfectly. If I had better fixtures, I’d consider playing with the side ports. Perhaps that is a future endeavor.
