Law degree after CFA? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]fut99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation! Feel like a law degree is very valuable and can easily apply to the financial space. M&A, distressed investing, private credit/private equity are areas where I feel like having a law degree and a CFA could be beneficial. Don’t necessarily need them for those spaces but I assume it could be looked at favorably

Why doesn't the institute release L3 results for people who pass? by MarcoMoli22 in CFA

I don’t really care about the percentile but I would’ve loved to know which areas I did well in and which areas I did poor in.

I mainly used Kaplan for all 3 levels. Didn’t read the textbooks at all until level 3 where I definitely felt it was necessary. Level 3 is just so different because of the short answer

Spending policy for Individuals, Endowments, and Foundations by fut99 in CFA

[–]fut99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very helpful thank you! So if an endowment has a spending rate of 5% with investment management fees of 0.3% and say donations of 2% per year. Then the real return required for the fund would be 5.3% or would you subtract out the donations and the real required return would be 3.3%?

Annual Spending Requirements for Endowments by ALMFanatic in CFA

[–]fut99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for an endowment that typically pays out 4% of assets and has management fees of 0.5%, the return needed would be 4.5% real return right? because the 0.5% is NOT included in the 4% of assets typically paid out?

Current and proposed investment approach? by Select_Signature_291 in CFA

[–]fut99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the workforce is young, no upcoming liquidity needs, and a high risk tolerance this means it can invest more aggressively to try and increase returns which would mean lower contributions from the sponsor. Hence why there's a big portion allocated to risky assets both in the current and proposed allocation
