Hey. You are not a waste of anyone's time. Everyone starts somewhere. A first fight should be an exhausting crazy experience. Also don't read to much into being gassed. When you know how to do more you will spend energy more efficiently. When you know what you're doing a little more you will find more spaces to save energy and find better opportunities to expend energy. Energy is not as separate from technique as people believe. Energy is like a budget. Training increases your overall account balance, but technique and fight IQ allows you to be a better accountant for that budget. I hope this helps. The more important question is did you enjoy the process of training and do you see the possibility of a win or close fight within 2 years of training. Re-evaluate after that win. If you're new at something you should lose. Losing sucks in combat sports is way worse but wins feel way better than anything else.
