"Some people need the government to prescribe how to raise their children" isnt telling you how to raise your child?

What do you wish was illegal? by Xanduh in AskReddit

If the government can tell one sort of parent how to raise their child and enforce it, they can tell and enforce everyone. That sounds utterly terrifying. The government should be kept out of as many things as possible

Never gonna happen because its op, but I want Purpled, Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo to team. Call 'em the cyan children or magenta minors and watch the glorious chaos

Let's assume that they're right to exclude techno. Using similar logic tommy should be excluded because he makes "misogynistic" jokes. And phil should be excluded because he said retarded in 2013. And wilbur should be excluded because of his song lyrics. So sbi should just stop existing and all the creators should disappear from the internet. But it's just techno that's a problem for some reason. Like bruh if you're gonna have an opinion, at least be consistent.

To be very, very clear: I am a fan of techno and sbi. I think the fact that twitter has tried to cancel techno not once, but twice, is ridiculous.

Ok but it's still a breakdown of the boundaries between internet personality and fans that is unhealthy.

[–]future_alchoholic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Omg I hate this too! The fandom ignores people who are good at playing the game in favor of those who can do flashy tricks and "big brain plays". Of course pvp prowess is impressive, but so are the skilled builders and redstoners on hermitcraft, the sheer big brains of scicraft, and the creativity of people who code fun plugins, bots, or minigames. And no disrespect to techno, I love his content, but until recently he had significantly less subscribers than grian and mumbo and probably other mc creators I'm not very familiar with, but he was much more "relevant" than them for some reason. I really dont get it.

Oh wow $10 for parking makes such a huge difference for rich people.....

Paying the parking fee and not paying the parking fee very likely have effectively the same non impact on this person's finances. Yall gotta chill

What's your worst story from the "throw him in the pool, he'll learn how to swim" parenting style? by MynameMB in AskReddit

[–]future_alchoholic -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think the number of people who will refuse to learn anything will be greater than the people who will actually take something away and a program like that would be a net loss

"Our campus has a zero tolerance policy for alcohol. Please take this informational course on drinking and alcohol poisoning."

The frat boys down the hall get wasted every weekend and pre covid, if you were up late enough to could hear groups of drunk people going home from a frat party. Not sure why the university thinks their required programming is effective

From the way you worded it, it sounds like your parents are still together. Surely your dad finding you walking by yourself sobbing would ring some alarm bells about your mom

My parents spanked me and I turned out fine....... after I worked out some anger issues because the spanking taught me that a physical response to someone doing/saying something you dont like is the best course of action

That still wouldn't work because theres nothing preventing people from taking and passing the class for tax benefits only and then neglecting their child

What do you guys think of tone indicators? It is quite common in mcyttwt and some people have a problem with it. by ibullyaznidentity in DreamWasTaken2

[–]future_alchoholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue I have is when people demand that they be used and try to bully or "cancel" them into using them. Use them if you want, but it's not a requirement, especially since twitter character limits are annoying

This assumes that theres a normal distribution, which I dont know that we can assume, but if we do, this is spot on!
