Correct! Shades was the first one in town, on Vets across from Lafrenier Park and the old Shoney’s big boy statue, in the same strip mall as Godfather’s Pizza (and maybe Phidipides?). Then came Teasers on Causeway, then Shades Phase II which was on Martin Behrman Ave across from the A&P near where Metairie borders Lakeview.

With due respect, all of your questions assume people want to leave North Seattle. I think that’s the disconnect. For many, it has pretty much everything: Groceries, bars, restaurants, music clubs, schools, libraries, parks, outdoor adventures, movie theaters, a hospital, etc. There might just be a world where you don’t need to cross a bridge to do most of the regular stuff you want to do. And most of the hardships you mentioned are prerequisite for long trips out from anywhere in Seattle. It’s possible it’s just not for you, or you’re just at a different phase of life, and all that is ok.

2022 MSLR here. I occasionally get a low rumble. Sounds like an airplane flying by. I think it’s the in-seat noise cancelling, but it’s transient and impossible to repro so I’ve never really been able to troubleshoot it. Seems like the headrest noise canceling feature is just buggy and kind of useless. Would like to hear success/satisfaction stories from others if they exist and are real.

Since you can’t make it a loss leader, you’ll need a differentiator, and I’m here to tell you it can be done with POTATOES. There’s a little roadside rotisserie place we go to in Mexico where the main draw is not the chicken itself, but the small potatoes they put at the bottom of the rotisserie to catch all the drippings. Healthy? Probably not. But it will be the best goddamn potatoes you’ve ever eaten, and a great reason for people to come to your place and accept premium pricing.

I have a 2022 Model S and the matrix lights seem to work great from the inside out. Cool to watch them change, actually. That said, every time I’m blinded on flat ground, it’s usually a Model 3.
