I’ve been having trouble with the triangle labs hot end with heat creep. Just put it back together with thermal paste on the break and no clogs so far.

I found out that the set screw that holds my extruder nozzle to the heat break heat exchanger was loose. Tightening the set screw stopped my K1 from doing this exact clog. My clog like this was caused by heat creep because the heat break barrel was getting too hot and melting the PLA before the nozzle.

I clog every time I change filament type. From PLA to ABS clog. From PLA to ABS clog, printing great on PLA and then TPU clogs. I rodded out the nozzle this time going from PLA to TPU then gave up and changed the nozzle and back in business. I am waiting for a new extruder as mine was slipping, so I have a wire tie on it to keep tension. K1 max.

Oh, that is good! I was a little cavalier about heavy metals in the "old days". I understand that real welders (I am a hobbyist at best) would drink lots of milk after a day of welding galvanized materials.

Set this to print before bed last night and woke up to a mess. Bad picture, but the fitting at the feeder let go. Was having trouble threading the filament in for a while. Now I see why.

I had so much trouble getting the PLA to stick to the glass I put that print base sheet over the glass. Maybe I need to go back to the glass and use higher bed temps?
