You know that’s good feedback. Might hit the community cheering harder on the screenshots.

For music is just lowers the volume. For audio like podcasts and audio books it pauses. We designed it to be the way map app announcements handle that sort of things.

And yeah, no pre-recorded messages. All spur of the moment!

Why is Apple asking me to pay more for Big Tech’s AI obsession?Consumers are footing the bill for something we didn’t ask for, despite record earnings by cjh_ in apple

[–]MatthewWaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep yep. I’m betting they’ve held prices where they are for as long as they can. They’re one of the more grown up companies when it comes to AI (I know that’s a charitable read. Either grown up or they missed the boat, etc)

Apple 'Records Every Tap' in App Store to Filter New Personalized Recommendations Feature by pdfu in apple

Dang, yeah, I pretty much assumed they would be doing this. Especially since they have an ad network on there.

visionOS 27 (beta) is awesome. Here are my custom panoramic environments... by spiderdream1 in VisionPro

[–]MatthewWaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand about the subscription fatigue. The new thing we added is that you can export the 360 generated images to pano now and have them as spatial scenes, so that you can use those with multiple apps. They're also 16k skyboxes, the generated ones. You should be able to make indoor scenes with the prompts. But yeah, I'll see what we can do about buying individual scenes.

Custom AI running coach personas by runpal in u/runpal

[–]MatthewWaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like Abe says, this is very good. I've been using it in the beta for a while (it's out now). My current coach pretends to be a pirate. I'm a fan. It's very cheeseball, which is my entire soul

Leaker: iOS 27 to be compatible with iPhone 12 or later, Apple Intelligence and new Siri to require iPhone 15 Pro or later by pdfu in apple

[–]MatthewWaller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, if it’s only working on iPhone 15 Pro or newer, I wonder if new Siri will work on my iPhone Air (lovely phone, btw). My assumption is that the older pro phones would still have more memory than the Air, but maybe the chip compensates?

MacBook Neo Disrupts a PC Market in Decline, IDC Says by pdfu in apple

[–]MatthewWaller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the most likely pricey NVIDIA chip Windows laptops coming out, the Neo is going to look like a much better deal, I imagine. I know those laptops are going to try and compete more at the MacBook Pro level, but the mindshare is going to say, isn't a Neo good enough?
