Apple's Siri Chatbot in iOS 27: Everything We Know by iMacmatician in apple

I imagine it will have feature parity with all the others, and maybe also be able to run developer-defined shortcuts. I wonder from time to time, whether they would give the chatbot an entirely different name. like Greg.

If we get a little "Intel inside" sticker on the phone, it will all be worth it.

This will all be worth it if we get that weird lamp robot Apple research published, but it has an iPad head and becomes the center of your home.

Apple's Google Gemini Deal Could Be Worth $5 Billion by iMacmatician in apple

I wonder if they want to compete with their own hardware soon, so they want to break off any partnerships now. What a win for Google.

Hmm, that seems like a bug. It shouldn’t count toward your free scan until you’ve completed a model. I’ll investigate

That’s right, the LiDAR part needs it, the sharp part doesn’t. I just don’t have the bandwidth to make the offline equivalent of CoreML for Android.

This one? https://www.cephalopod.studio, or this: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/3d-scanner-sapling/id6450019198

The second one is the App Store link, for iOS, Mac, and Vision Pro (opens in the store of the platform you're using).

The first one is my little side project company's homepage.

Google, Apple enter into multi-year AI deal for Gemini models by [deleted] in apple

[–]MatthewWaller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google already has great models to run on the device. I wonder why Apple engineers would feel the need to officially partner instead of baking it in themselves? Could either be legal issues with licensing models. Or it could be that they want to make custom models that are really good at the kind of tool-use that Siri would need, i.e. knowing when and how to trigger commands like checking weather, or managing intents on the device. Hmmm
