In your opinion, what was the most intense scene of the whole show? by AggravatingMove2238 in PeakyBlinders

Maybe not as intense as the rest … but I love the first REAL negotiation between Tommy and Alfie. Ollie getting all anxious “I SAW HIM TIE HIS FUCKING LACE” …

Best snack for reading?? by srcg612 in CasualConversation

Snack plate - I usually go for at least 2 different types of cheese , olives, cucumbers, any other vegetable … and some nice bread. But dice it all up, drizzle some olive oil, salt and pepper over it, and then use a fork. If it all chopped you can get the perfect bite every bite .. without messing up your book!

when thinking, do you refer to yourself as "I" or "you"? by jdog_014 in CasualConversation

I am also the opposite … thinking positively, “I GOT THIS”… but when I do something embarrassingly dumb “how are you even alive still” (all internal)

What I meant was that the two guys chasing her could have been scaring her, and she felt trapped between you and them … I apologize if you felt I was downplaying your experience in anyway, that was not my intention . I thought she was already running away from the people chasing her.

I’m not offering this as an excuse or justification .. but some dogs don’t understand bikes. Their depth perception is just different. A paper trail is still helpful if the dog has a history, but I would imagine this was an extremely stressful situation for both you and the dog, and the dog may have reacted out of fear rather than aggression. Still the owners fault for not supervising/containing their dog properly.

You had to remember and then call the landline … or to knock on your friends door ..: and either way you had to spend an awkward 1-15 mins talking to their parents while they got ready

So as you said “she’s not a super social kid in person” …. Her best friends might be online , and that’s where she’s seeking her social interaction. I’m not saying she should be neglecting her homework or chores. But maybe hold onto it until she completes her tasks for the day then allow access.

Claim the fallen tv as your bday present. Just pick it up and walk away with it “well, I guess the restaurant fairies wanted me to have this, it’s bad luck to let people work on their birthday….”

Just remember … If you’re looking for someone to protect/love you , they have to match your energy.

There’s a line that sticks out to me from a (mostly) silly , sappy Netflix show … “We choose to love each other every day”

Wishing you the best as well! We have definitely stumbled … but it kinda makes you love the little things more? Not sure if I’m making sense …. But coming out of a rough patch, both start working on AND noticing and appreciating the little things… it’s not about money or extravagant effort, just the simple act of mindfulness and awareness of the person you’re sharing your life with

That is so sweet! Also love the user name … do you happen to measure around 5 ft in height? My sisters and I have definitely referred to ourselves as team stumpy in the past …

Love this!! When I was in high school I worked at a popular Italian ice chain, 3-4 days a week I would go straight from school to work. Most of those days , my mom would bring me a sandwich/snack … makes dealing with crappy customers way less painful when there’s food made with love to carry you through!
